Does anyone hate the Superbowl?

Just curious to see if there are people out there like me who hate everything Superbowl related (the game, the commercials, the pageantry)?

I think my wife and I have gone beyond that: We just ignore it. It means nothing to us, and the paraphernalia around the game is simply overlooked.

Yeah maybe "hate" is a strong word. But I really dislike the hype behind it.

It makes a lot of people happy so I don't hate the game, but it has no meaning to me. I do enjoy the side benefit of some tasty snacks on the big day.

I love the idea of the Superbowl. It means that football season is OVER. I really don't enjoy football, despite many efforts to understand it.

It's funny, in my Anthro. class last night we talked about the Superbowl in relation to the customs of some Native tribes from around the globe and their warrior traditions. It made for an interesting topic last night.

I've never understood football, let alone the Super Bowl.

I think hate is too strong a word. I just don't pay attention to football....ever. The rest of the world is free to love/ hate/ go nuts however they please. My dh is probably the only male I know that doesn't follow football, so that helps. I do enjoy the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet....does that count?

I think you have to have been born without a soul to hate the Puppy Bowl & Kitty Halftime show. I normally watch the real game, but I usually watch reruns of the PB afterward. And my cat is MESMERIZED by it.

I'm not a fan of the hype. I could care less about football, and find the whole "Wow, I wonder what the Super Bowl commercials will be like this year!!!" thing really just too much. Just about the ONLY thing I'm interested in is the halftime show!
