Does anyone forego dining plans to save money?

we prefer tables of wonderland as well as it gives us more flexibility to order what we want. Dining plan can be good or bad value depending on how you and your family eat. We aren't big dessert eaters so we get things we normally wouldn't get and would normally prefer appetizers.

There used to be a comparison spreadsheet floating around that would compare the DDP with the TIW discount. We had TIW for years but dumped it when they jacked up the price to $150. We would have to spend $750 in dining before we broke even enough to start saving money. The AP/DVC/Visa Card discounts (usually about 10%) were much better for us. And yes, we order drinks at dinner.
