We decided too late and the cruise we want is sold out. Does anyone ever get a last minute cancellation? Does Disney have a waitlist?
For future reference, how far in advance do you guys book?
TIA

Check back for resv. at the 60 days out time period. That is when final payment is due and they can get a full refund if they cancel.

We usually book about a year in advance. Yes, people do cancel. You will probably see most of the cancelations between the 60 and 90 day mark due to the refund policy.

We booked 11/30/02 at the 11month DVC booking deadline
Rebooked for 11/8/03 at the 11month DVC booking deadline

(actually as soon as we returned from WDW we rebooked)

Did you keep trying every day to see if there were any openings (you can even try several times a day). DH and I we're going to go on a last minute cruise for our anniversary-decided 7/10 and our anniversary was 7/18. I checked DCL website and found cabins, but the next day I checked again and there were no cabins. I checked the day after that and depending on when I checked they would be booked or they would have cabins available. I called DCL directly since it seemed so confusing. DCL told me that they accept bookings up to 24 hours before the cruise sets sail and the reason for the booked cruise then not booked cruise every time I checked was if a TA was checking for someone they place a hold on the cabin until they can get ahold of their client, but if the client decides not to go, the cabin is released, so the amount of cabins available fluctuates daily.

Wow- thanks for that information. I've contacted a couple of travel agencies on line and now I'm waiting to hear back from them. The problem is, we can't decide last minute, as it is the Dec. 27 cruise we are trying to get on.

I am sailing on the Dec. 27 cruise. If I should cancel I will let you know.

I just cancelled TODAY! Of course, I re-booked for the very next week, so that might not count as a real cancelllation -- it was really a matter of changing weeks.
