Does anyone ever cancel Chef Mickey's?

I have been trying to get a reservation for Chef Mickey's every day online all day with no luck! I needed Dinner on 11/30 or breakfast on 12/3. Do people ever cancel this one or do they hang onto it and decide when they get there? They should make this one have a cc guarantee since it is sooo hard to get a reservation for!
Anyone have any luck getting a cancellation?

In my experience, everything is open to be cancelled. So far in planning for our October trip I have cancelled a Le Cellier ADR, 2 California Grill ADRs and a CRT lunch. I cancelled all of these because I was later able to get the time/date that I had initially wanted. So, I cancelled good things that other folks might want because someone else cancelled something that I wanted! Just keep trying!

I'm sure some do. I have, due to having to reschedule a trip (twice )Just keep trying, especially around the 45 day mark, and something just might open up.

I have seen many people on the boards book way to many ADR's for CM and I am sure they really don't plan to eat there 2x a day for the entire trip, so keep trying and I am sure you will be able to get something if you check daily and are open to different times.

I just canceled one last week while we were there. We left early due to illness and I called and canceled before we left for home so someone else could use it. Keep trying even after you get there!

Keep trying! I got mine for my October trip just a few days ago. I did have to be flexible on my time, but regardless, my kids were thrilled!

yes, you just gotta keep trying...be persistent! I know it is hard...but I have actually called there on the day we wanted a ressie and got it, so just keep trying

Keep trying, be flexible with your times, too.

People do cancel - i just cancelled one for CM for a party of 6 at 10:45 on December 1st last week.

I took the advice of fellow posters on here when I was having trouble. I am a newbie to all this...do you know how long it took me to know what the heck an ADR was?

But they said be persistent...so you know what i did today? I carried around my daughter's lap top...I plugged in the restaurant I wanted and checked all the times...I kept doing this all day when I had a free moment. I finally came across a res for Cinderella's castle..only to lose it while speaking with a cm on the phone..their pc crashed..he felt terrible.. anyhow I stuck with it again..and about 3:30 today..a 7:30 res came around for the castle..I grabbed that sucker so fast..it was later than I wanted with three kids..but who cares..i am on vacation..I will go to bed fat and happy.

Then tonight, I kept going until I got Boma...just be a tad obsessive..just make sure your family members don't commit you and then you miss your vacation!

I wanted the castle like no one's business..so just keep checking throughout the day!!!

YAY! I'm so glad you got Cinderella's Royal Table. I read your earlier post about what happened on the phone. You had such a good attitude about it when others (maybe myself included) would have went berserk! Hope you have a wonderful trip!

I will tell you i have come across the later night times every now & then but nothing for an early time. I did however become lucky enough to get early dinner time during the month and a half when online dining came about. It is very difficult to find a cancellation for Chef Mickey. I did find a 5:30 for a day which i really didnt want it but kept the reservation. I really wanted one for my arrival day and kept checking constantly throughout the day for weeks. I was obsessed going on constantly (it was almost like playing Russian Roulette you never knew when something would pop up and felt great when you got something good). I went online less than a week before our arrival and was lucky enough to find a 5:00 for our arrival day. I felt like i won the lottery and couldnt believe i FINALLY got it (definintely a cancellation). I did cancel the other one right away for the next night so another lucky person got mine. You have to be VERY persistent and check constantly especially around the 45 day mark and in the week leading up to your stay. It is rare but does happen

Yes, I find people do cancel CM. I had to cancel when our trip was postponed. I had been trying to rebook for our new dates for a month (our trip is next week) and couldn't get anything anywhere for the first three weeks of trying on line. Yesterday, I was able to find Chef Mickey's for breakfast and CP for dinner. Its a lot of work to keep checking back every day, but so far, I have been able to book everything we wanted except Garden Grill and 1900 Park.

Are your chances better for CM if you call as opposed to looking online, or does it not matter? I'd be bummed if we couldn't get a ressie there for this trip. Well, not too bummed. It is Disney after all!

I just canceled a breakfast for 9/21. I was able to replace it with a lunch so I let the previous one go. I would really like a dinner, but we'll see if I'm so lucky.

I was able to get CM just a few days ago for the time and date I wanted. Our trip is in 2 weeks and I had been trying a few times a day for over a month. So, it does happen! Good luck

I had Chef Mickey's for breakfast on 12/2 and 12/3 which I cancelled earlier this week as we changed some things around. Keep trying. I couldn't get it for dinner on my 90 day mark, but was able to get it for dinner a week later, at the time I wanted.

I'm on hold right now to cancel one breakfast, and I canceled 2 this morning (well, not really canceled, but had them in my cart while looking for better times. Got better times and took the others out of my cart.
There were NONE for any of these times when I was looking yesterday, so they definitely do pop up sometimes.
