Does Anyone Else Watch Cheaters?

It's a total guilty pleasure & I'm kinda hooked.

I guess the extra draw for me is that they're all taped in Dallas, so part of it is "Oh look, there's Jack's Pub" or "Hey they're at that parking lot in Deep Ellum".

I can't help but wonder how they deal with situations like when they find out their live-in GF is cheating on them & making sure that they don't come back after they've been caught & thrown out & then trash the place or whatever.

Me and my fiance stay home Sat night just to watch it! though we could tape it, or wait till Fri to see the rerun,we enjoy it so much that unless we have commited to something that can't be done on Fri, we stay home just to watch Tommy! Don't you love how Tommy always says "I hate to show you this video? but...." You know he isn't. My fiance says he would never cheat cause he knows cheaters cameras will throw his afair all over national tv! Lol, ya got good taste Jeff!

I love it when Tommy gets on to them & says "You should be ashamed of yourself" or "what do you have to say for yourself?" He gets mad, but he's so mellow it's kinda funny.

My sister & I have noticed something...
When it's a girl cheating, she usually says "well, you're never around"
When it's a guy cheating, he usually says "well, I didn't mean to hurt you"

OMG! It's a worse guilty pleasure than watching Cops or Most Dangerous Car Crashes/Chases/Drivers. We secretly watch it (blinds closed so nobody can see) and laugh our butts off! The classic "deer-in-the-headlights" look that these "cheaters" have when the cameras show up... as if they actually believed that they would never get caught. We watched the show that was on last night at 6:00 ... the women were the cheaters of that episode. It was so hilarious when they showed up at the club and all the patrons outside immediately started whooping and hollering (no other words can describe their noises) that "Cheaters is here.. OOOhhhh! Somebody cheatin'!!" They all know about the show and were laughing about it! That was priceless!
So, to answer your question Jeff, yep... I secretly watch Cheaters. And I'm ashamed.

Probably my favorite is when they catch this one guy & when the girl goes to confront the "other woman" it turned out to be a guy. The cheating guy's reaction was classic.

Sorry, but this is not for me. Not to be too harsh, but I don't find others people's pain and humiliation entertaining, even if they brought it on themselves.

WDWHound - I understand what you're saying. I think the point of the show is not to make a fool out of the person that is being cheated on, but the cheater. I think if the show exists & causes someone contemplating cheating on an SO to think twice about not being completely upfront about the situation, then it does more good than harm.

Jeff: I know, but I still don't like it. It strikes me as revenge and revenge for its own sake is never a good thing. Don't get me wrong. I am not sticking up for the slimes who would cheat on their partners, but I don't see a need to puplicly humiliate them in front of the whole nation, especially not in the name of entertainment. What gives this TV show the right to determine that the cheeter should be punished by being humiliated like this?

Not to mention the innocent people this damages. What about the Cheaters Parents? What about any children involved? These people are humiliated too, but they had no choice in the matter. This show has tremendous destructive potentcial. I can see it destroying lives.

Sorry, but I don't see this show being anything but entertainment at someone elses expense. The tragedy of a failed mariage is a private matter. It should not be broadcast all over the country just so that we can be entertained.

If you want to see pain and humiliation, watch the Bachelor!

As for this, the cheater deserves the humiliation and the person who set the thing up KNEW what the end result might be so no, I don't feel bad watching this train wreck!

Robin: I don't watch the Bachelor either.

WARNING - Religious reference follows: I guess I have a hard time imagining Jesus watching this show. I keep thinking of that women who was going to be stoned becuase she was an adulteress and how he dealt with her. Her situation is not that different from what this show explores. (thats just my view based soley on my religious beleifs. I recognize that others opinions may vary).

Anyway, I step down now. Im not trying to make anyone feel guilty and I am certain that others might object to some of my viewing habits. I just think thought the other viewpoint regarding this show needed presenting.

No one needs to be publicly humiliated on national TV. The show is not aired unless consent is given by both parties. Some sign but won't agree to their face or real name shown. I also agree a cheater gets what they deserve, and i say go round up all those unfaithful jerks! The only ones I feel bad for are the ones who get cheated on, sometimes the hurt on thier faces is obvious, and I want to hug them Jeff, that was my fav episode also, I know EXACLY which one you are talking about.
