While I agree - in theory - that a "positive only cheerleader board" would be less useful, I'm not sure that I agree with your suggestion that most folks who come here want to hear every nit, pick and rant of every DVC visit. In the real (that is, non-Internet) world, all that really matters
to me is what occurs on
my vacation. While I do feel that this is a "friendly" community - and I do care to hear about my "friends" experiences - whether or not someone else had a rude CM, didn't get a balcony, got a HC room or thought that their room overlooking the Boardwalk was too noisy doesn't impact my DVC vacation one iota (well, maybe one iota, but definately not two

). IMHO, while I would like to hear about the serious problem, I do NOT want this board to become the "DVC Consumer Reports". More to the point, I seriously disagree with the portion of your comment that I have bolded. I simply don't see how one person's subjective opinion can help others make their own subjective opinions; note that it just isn't you - I'm equally suspect of movie, TV and food critics' opinions as well. And - again, IMHO - anyone who bases a multi-thousand (multi-ten-thousand) dollar purchase on the opinion of someone on the Internet is already in trouble.
As for the topic, it's pretty obvious that SSR is simply the target du jour; once another DVC issue comes up - another resort is announced or ROFR is dropped - SSR will simply become 'just another DVC resort'.
Be well!
ETA: I forgot to point out that posting problems here
instead of informing Disney is the height of passive-aggressiveness. Got a problem with DVC? Please, PLEASE tell those who can actually effect a change.
