Does anyone else remember when AKL opened?

This just fries me! When AKL first opened, and for a long time after, Disney begged people to stay there. I think about the rate I paid for a deluxe room for 5, and I laugh now. It was about $99 a night, if I remember correctly.

Now, they finally got people to request the AKL as their first choice and what happens? They are trying to ship them off to Saratoga Springs. I don't get the marketing strategy here, except to tick off a lot of people, and force them to another resort they don't want.

Disney isn't kicking guests out on purpose. They are trying to accommodate their guests due to (perhaps unforseen) conflicts with the construction of the new AKL Villas.

Yes - I think they are trying to keep people happy. I think the construction has made a lot of guests mad as heck. I have been twice during the construction with zero problems, but obviously others haven't been as lucky.

HOWEVER, I do remember the days of great rates at AKL and lots of availability. It took a while for people to catch on to what an incredibly special place it is. That's a good thing and a bad thing ;)
