Does Anyone Else Not Like Their DD's boyfriend or DS's girlfriend?

Or am I the only one?? I'm really a nice, easy-going person, down to earth, friendly . . .but my DD's boyfriend is a total jerk! I've tried to like him . . .but there is just something about him . . .She starting going out with him last December and then they broke up and she went out with someone else . .now she's back to HIM.

The kid has no rules . . .his mom is divorced and apparently the kid can do whatever he wants . . .He came over tonight and they watched a movie(he brought 2 over) . . .I thought he was going to be picked up at 9 . . .but apparently he never made that arrangement . . .At 9:45 I ask is the movie almost over? He said "we haven't watched the other one yet" . . .He's very rude and doesn't have any respect at all . . . I was like kid, its 9:45 . . .are you getting picked up or what? I ended up driving him home . . .his mom wasn't even there . . .I feel bad for him for not having any rules . . .and I feel bad that I can't stand him . . .I have no idea why DD likes him . . .

Or maybe there is another side to him that you don't see.

Or maybe she likes "Bad Boys?"

My DD is only 22 months. I have a while to go before this stage-Thank Goodness!

Sorry to hear that it has to be hard. My oldest is going to be 16 in Sept so we are just fixing to get into the dating stuff. I hope he find's a nice girl. Unforunately I dont do well in trying to hide my dislike for kids that are rude and disrespectful so I hope he doesnt bring any home, lol.
I will say a prayer for a good looking nice boy to catch your dd

DS has a girl in his class who is positively smitten with him. She will just sit and stare, follow him around, tells the teachers that she just loves him, and leaves him notes in his locker.


Oh...did I mention that DS is 6 and she is 5????? bwahahahaha, but the rest is true. There was one mildly disturbing incident, she wore a dress one day, and told the teacher, she was wearing it so "Her boyfriend could see her legs"

He will be leaving her heartbroken in September, as he goes onto first grade, and she will be attending Kindergarten.

I almost always like Ashli's boyfriends. She had remarkably good tastes most of the time. There was one fellow I didn't like her dating though. Thankfully that relationship died it's own death without my ever having to say anything. But even then the boy was sweet, he had a few things about his personality that made him a bad choice for Ashli.

Actually, I knew my DH was a keeper when my sisters gave their approval. We have a habit of not liking each other's boyfriends. Didn't like Little Sis's freshman BF, didn't like, well, any of Big Sis's, including the current one. Big Sis yelled at Mom for not telling her how much we didn't like one boyfriend, so now we're pretty open about it.

Of course, the soltuion for your daughter -- we weren't allowed to date at age 14!
