Does anyone else hear sirens in the backround of the monorail station. Weird

It's the Staff! They're onto our credit laundering scheme! Run!

I remember them I believe back when also, but since the updates came I turned my music back on to hear and see if things changed and the new music for the rooms. I noticed it and I am guessing it's just for the entire "Monorail"/City type feeling. If you look you see skyscrappers down below and off to the side ;)

Couldn't you always hear sirens in the background? :confused3 lol...

I haven't had my music on since once this past Christmas and haven't been at the monorail station with my music on since October 2005 lol and even then I thought I heard sirens -- maybe I was always just hearing things...that wouldn't be a shocker :rotfl:

The sirens have been there since the beginning and they've always sort of bugged me. The whole "city" theme is fine I suppose, but it IS still the Magic Kingdom. Do we really need to be hearing police sirens?

I never liked the whole city theme idea. However, since it is after DLR, I guess it's appropriate  lol.

Walt Disney found that from the Magic Kingdom you could both see and hear the highway traffic. This was part of what inspired him to create WDW, to make a place where you are completely surrounded by the magic. lol. A little trivia knowledge haha.

When I was in California visiting Disneyland I heard the sirens from the Monorail platform also. They just duplicated the sounds and sights of what you see at Disneyland but you most likely will never hear them at WDW Magic Kingdom.

You won't. lol. The parks were designed so carefully keeping in mind something that really annoyed Walt. In fact, they are so careful with sounds, even the lands within the Magic Kingdom people cannot see or hear around them.

For example, while in Fantasyland, you cannot see or hear the sights and sounds of Tomorrowland (unless of course you are at the line entering a new land). The only exception to this is Frontierland and Liberty Square. While in Frontierland you can hear the howls from the Haunted Mansion which is located in Liberty Square.
