Does anyone else ever feel this way?

I apologize if I posted this in the wrong place. Wasn't sure where to put it.

Every single time I travel, whether it be to Disney or any other place, I feel sick . I don't have an appetite and I sometimes find myself getting sick, a lot. My last trip to Disney (Dec. 2010), I was fortunate enough to get a free dining pin. I didn't get to enjoy it because I constantly felt like I was going to be naseous. There were very few times where I was actually able to eat something. Around the end of the trip I started feeling a little better, but by then we were pretty much leaving. I'm getting married this year and I'm concerned that I'll be feeling this way when I go on my honeymoon. Anyone else feel this way? If so, how do you cope?
Thanks! :goodvibes

I feel like this, too. For me, it's anxiety and is now controlled (mostly) by medication. The next time you're at the Dr, mention it - it's possible that a low-dose, short-term anti-anxiety med could get you over the "hump".

Regardless, I hope you have a great wedding and honeymoon!

Food sensitivities???
Dehydration???

How are you about eating when you are at home.....
Are you the kind of person who sticks to certain things???

What is 'different' about what you are drinking/eating while on vacation...

Ex. Do you indulge in soda, when you refrain at home???

Thanks Jennifer. I do seem to have a problem with anxiety which seems to be ten fold with every thing going on this year. I have a long list of questions to ask the Doctor next time so I'll add that on. :)

I stay hydrated and drink lots of water whenever I'm on vacation. I'm not much of a soda person. I drink a can of ginger ale a day with dinner. I still eat the same types of food at home. It's crazy. I don't feel this way when I eat at home. I can pretty much eat anything.

Another note: I don't get like this when I drive somewhere so I'm wondering if it's the flying that makes me feel like this. I've never knowingly had jet lag so perhaps this is what is happening.

Bring your own drinking water and anything else you would normally drink.

Give it a try. Your system may just be used to your local water supply.

You could try something called Rescue Remedy by Bach to see if it would help w/ mild anxiety issues. You can find it at vitamin & health food stores.

It probably isn't all about the flying since you said you feel better at the end of trips and presumably you still have to fly home.

It's stress.

My gastroenterologist told me once that if he could disconnect the mind from the stomach he'd be out of a job!:lmao:

I used this constantly. Used it today... twice actually. It seriously helps with SO MANY anxiety related issues. I keep it on me at all times!!!!

BTW- I was this way when I went off to college. I couldn't eat a THING... other than a few bites of salad. For me, it was seperation anxiety. Same thing when I would go out on dates for the first time or I was really nervous about something. I could NOT eat.

How did I overcome it? Well.... the Rescue Remedy does help me. That and I purposefully order something small. I do deep breathing exercises and try to keep my food on the light side. Sleep is SUPER important to my anxiety level too, so I try to be sure that I sleep as much as I do at home.

Maybe you're feeling the same way- if you have a car, you can 'escape' whenever you want. But if you fly somewhere, you're... stuck... kinda. KWIM? I think it might be a claustrophobia/seperation anxiety type of thing. Rescue Remedy sure helps me, and early mental preparation that everything is ok and you're safe.
