Does anyone else dislike Space Mountain? isnt it just overrated.

I like it. I'm pretty old (56) and I do think it's jerky, but it's a fun jerky and I don't get off in pain or anything (unlike RnR, which bangs my head around and gives me a headache). I've ridden Space Mountain enough to be able to anticipate turns and jerks, so that probably helps.

Not a fan either. Used to be, but it is just too jerky and rough for me now...

Love Space, it's a classic Disney attraction in my mind. That said I wish they would just bite the bullet and take it offline for a year and do a massive refurb ala Disneyland. Yet prevailing knowledge is that won't happen untill tomorrowland gets an overall update.

I am no longer a fan. The last time I rode that thing I creaked out of the car, called to the tables nearby and collapsed. It is way to jerky and rough for me and I am not going near it again until there is a complete refurb. I love coasters, but this one s off limits for me.

Oh man. Yall are bumming me out! I haven't been on it in a looooong time, but want to take DS this year. I don't want to be in pain though!!

Its so painful to ride.
DL version is fantastic, smooth, fast, and great music, won't ride DW version anymore.

That's why I can only do 7DMT now as it is a very smooth coaster.
No more neck jerking for this 'aging' body - also make sure I ride in first or second row.
I couldnt believe how smooth 7DMT was when i rode it last year.
Amazing!

Probably TMI, but I love coasters immensely and it seems to run in the family because my Dad, now long gone, last rode SM w/me when he was in his 80's. So you folks can imagine my sadness when I awoke last December with a right arm swinging like a dead fish and learned, without doing anything, that my life had changed drastically. I regained use of my arm and hand but learned my spine had seen better days. When I asked (I'm 66) if I could continue to ride coasters you can imagine the answer...but the look was pretty hysterical. I've continued to ride (cautiously, yes, but the old broad's not dead yet!) all but SM because of all the reasons you've stated here. I just wish I had known the last ride was THE last ride!

My First time to WDW was in 2000 ( I was 42) and I went on Space MT with my daughter...It scared me to death...couldn't wait till it was over with, and I love most roller coasters So the next few times we went to WDW, I refused to ride it But after several years I had enough nerve to try it again, and I loved it!! Not sure why I was so scared before. Been on it a few times more too :)

I dont get all the pain comments. I'm almost 30 and still ride it just fine. Painful? i can name some rides at Six Flags Great Adventure, for sure. But not space mountain!

I'm collecting SS checks and I love it. It knocks me around and isn't good for my back but it's always a FP for me. Especially with my grand kids!

It might be the case that your experience to date isn't universally representative.

This, it's jerky but fun jerky. It's the best thrill ride in MK, relatively speaking. (And yes, RNR is the one that gives me headaches too).

I hear there doing a tron ride instead of space mountain at the new disney shanghai park!

Love it! Maybe it's the nostalgia of it, but it's one of our favorites. I tend to get severe headaches on rough rides, but SM has never given me one.
