Does anyone do Bodypump (Body Pump) at home?

6 months later... 6 months into Covid... 6 months after my gym closed... and I'm still faithfully doing pump online!

I'm going to post the one pump class that I LOVE -- I think that the instructor posted it as her "try out" before she became an instructor because it hasn't been pulled by Les Mills in all of the years that it's been online. Unfortunately a lot of the classes that I really have enjoyed have been pulled by Les Mills.

Hoping that other pumpers can share some PUMP classes that they've been enjoying since gym closures. :tinker:

So.... it's a barbell?

I mean, that's really cool that there a whole hour-long routine, one exercise into another. I wonder how much weight they want you to use (how close to your max).

Body Pump / Group Power was my go to class for many years. Have you tried the Les Mills online? We were subscribing to it for my daughter but she found other stuff she likes better. I wondered how the power classes were, though. I haven't invested in home equipment yet.

I’ve done it for about 2 years now. I love Body Pump! I started doing it at my gym, but while I was on vacation last year I looked up free videos on YouTube, and decided I liked them even better than going to the gym. I canceled my membership and bought a bench and a weight set. My favorite is Let’s Move Fitness. He’s funny, doesn’t waste time between sets, and the music is great. Before I found him I would just do random “audition” videos. Some were better than others.

Thanks for sharing your favorite. I’ll check it out. I can’t imagine paying for a Les Mills membership when there are high quality videos for free.

I love Body Pump as well. I don't have a barbell at home so I just use hand weights. For squats I don't use any weight at all and just work on good form.

I have been circulating through 2 or 3 on youtube. Here is one I like:

You don't use a heavy weight with Body Pump. The idea is to work each area for 5 minutes straight, so lighter weight to exahustion. I did Body Pump for years. I have thought about subscribing to the online but I haven't yet.

Love Les Mills classes. Our gym is open, so I take that class 2-3 times a week. I also love Body Combat!! I hope someone posts some different versions for you!

I ❤❤❤ Body Pump!!! In fact, I just did 101 today.

I've seen such great results with it, faster than I ever saw when I was at a gym doing machines or working with a trainer. I first started Les Mills when the classes were offered at my gym, but as rates went up and classes didn't always fit my schedule I eventually quit the gym and subscribed to Les Mills On Demand.

I do body pump 3x week, and on other days I usually do body combat or sh'bam. I finally got my cycle fixed so I can mix in the cycle classes now. Occasionally I'll do barre. At first I only had dumbbells, and it's doable with that, but last Christmas I got a barbell ,, just an inexpensive one on Amazon, but I think I'd like to splurge for one of theirs for the ability to quick change the weights.

Some others I like - 107, 103, 112

107 is my absolute favorite. I love the back track on that one!

Our gyms are open with limited capacity. I think you can take off your mask during a class if you are at least six feet apart. I have been attending the outdoor cardio classes that do not require touching equipment as well as some Zumba classes online. I really prefer F2F classes and feel like I work harder. We also hike on nature trails. I miss the indoor classes.

You can do it without the bar. Use hand weights... I actually prefer it because you’re using more muscle control too.

I mean, that's pretty oo

There's a name for how this works. Low weight, high reps. Something about building up acid in the muscle fiber. I forget the word.

Since I'm not going to the gym right now, I might look into this.

Sorry for the late response. Thank you so much for this!! I'm going to give this video a go on Wednesday!

I also don't have a barbell at home, but do have hand weights up to 10 pounds which work well for me.
Like you, I am now focusing on form now (squating lower, making sure to isolate muscles etc.,). I was squating about 70 lbs, back and shoulders about 30 lbs, and biceps about 25 lbs before my gym closed down in March. I'm realy enjoying the lower weights!!

I've been faithful to pump since 2018 -- 3x's a week each week! I've been doing pump 3x's a week on and off since 2005 and it honestly has my body so toned and fit - I feel guilty NOT doing it! I'm not into combat, but I do like body step and I have tried body flow. I'm going to try to find 107, 103 & 112 on YouTube (for free 8-))!

I miss body pump so much! Our gyms are still closed (opening next week, FINALLY!), but the gym I go to gave us access to all the Les Mills online workouts. I haven't done pump since I only have 3 and 5 pound weights at home, but I have been enjoying doing Combat at home.
