Does anyone actually write letters anymore?

I write cards and thank you notes all the time. I write at least a note a week to DD's teacher (she's going to play practice so no bus, she'll be comeing home instead of to the afterschool program, etc.). DD and her grammy (my mom) write to each other every week and DD is always thrilled to get the letters in the mailbox. She also has a pen pal with a little girl we met while in Hawaii. They don't have a computer and she and DD (and the girl's mom and I) write back and forth frequently.

I love picking up notecards and note paper. There's something so comforting and thrilling about getting a real letter!

nope, don't like to write letters. If you don't have email, I'll call instead. My mom is a card sender and always gets mad that I don't send cards too. They are so expensive and I think it is a waste of money. $5 so you can keep them around until the next trash day?

I do however need to write a note to my great aunt. She'll keep you on the phone for hours and doesn't have email. She sent DS a little something for Valentines day and I need to get a thank you in the mail!

Most of the time I send emails. I do send letters to my dgd. She's 3 years old. She loves running to the mail box every day to get the mail. It's even more fun when there is mail for her.

I occasionally send birthday cards to people, and maybe a thank you note now and then. But other than that, my penmanship is too ugly for me to be hand-writing lengthy letters to people. Plus I constantly edit what I've written, and that's impossible to do when writing in pen.

However - If I were to write a politician or someone else I don't know personally but whose attention I was seeking, I would slowly and neatly hand-write it (after typing it out on the computer first :teeth: ). I've heard that a hand-written note is the best way to get your letter noticed by those who receive many letters.
