Does anybody remember Jessica Lange?

NOT for the S.I.Swimsuit Issue ;) ;) ......

Check your facts my friends. Jessica Lange is not only
NOT a "has been" but a 6 time nominated and winning
Oscar winner who has a long list of VERY good films in
her repertoire. http://www.jessicalange.net/film2.html

Second-as you and I are here, it is Ms. Lange's personal right
to voice her opinion. And, I happen to agree with her IF
she said what you say she did. Bravo Jessica. Too many
folks think George W Bush is off limits. He's not, but he
would have you think he was. I much prefer his father's
statesmanship to his blatant arrogance...and, the "let's
go play war" mentality he displays, hmmmmm, it's
unconscienable. Can't find Osama so lets start up
somewhere else. I see this as frustrated little men
wanting to play with the big toys they have and looking
all over for a place they might get support to use them.
Hey boys, might even stimulate the economy! Let's do it.

I fly my flag-I'm one of the few who actually sing the
Star Spangled Banner at public events and I'm a
card carrying member of the D.A.R. Because I am
educated about the ways of being an American, I
am aware that dissent is allowed here and keeps us
all honest. Let Ms. Lange's comments spark honest
debate not mud slinging, haphazard comments about
her talent or status in her profession-which by the
way were very wrong. She's a very serious actress and
a good one. Featured on Inside the Actor's Studio and
just amazing in almost everything she does.
I know
my opinion is not a popular one here regarding
George W's attacking Iraq. I simply do not feel that
he is beyond creating war where it is not necessary to
keep folks like you in a "follow the leader" mode to keep
your votes. I feel he is afraid he is viewed as a failure for
not capturing Osama-much like his father's viewed failure
in not squelching Sadam. Politicians at this level are
self serving-all you have to do is listen to George W.
proclaim himself President over and over again with that
smirk to know he is way too impressed with himself and he'd
do anything to get re-elected. Scary.

As someone who activally protested the Vietnam War(and ended up marrying a Vet-go figure), **I** feel that she has every right to protest a war. War kills our young men, and kills many innocent residents in the country the war is fought. It is a terrible thing.

And all these snide "has been" comments only illustrates that some folks(or should I say Dis-kids) equate over 30 as "has beens".

Well, again, that the wonderful right of freedom of speech.

I don't know much about the politics, but I have the choice to either agree or disaggree.

I didn't hear the comments either, so I can't take a second, third or fourth hand perspective to even make a reasonable judgement.

Jane Fonda did her own thing as well. Gutsy, and unpopular as it was she still did it.

Many people don't think invading Iraq is a good move. She just wants to voice an opinion about it. How many of us don't think it is a good idea, and just idly do nothing... the freedom of speech is an amazing right, and she is utlitizing it.

I think Jane Fonda's antics would be seen today in the same light they were seen in then. :)

Edited for really, really bad grammar!  I guess I should edit my edit now too. :p

I said it before and I'll say it again.... if the terrorists had flown a plane into the middle of the Academy Awards all those actors and actresses would be singing a different tune today....

Like what she says or not, she has a right to her opinion, that's what freedom of speech is all about. We could live in a country where you are shot or stoned to death for speaking out against the President. Just be happy we live where we live.

The same rights you have, she has.

Oh my goodness, my age is showing because this reminds me alot of the uproar over Jane Fonda in the early 70's. I also remember hearing "America-love it or leave it" a lot then and she embarrassed a lot of people (not me-I thought it was great at the time...but not all of us agreed the US belonged in Viet Nam at that point in history).

No, it was Jessica Lange, 1976.

One of the things I love about this country is that we can say things that aren't popular and we don't end up in jail just for the words we use.
