I'm an Unofficial Guide lover myself & have had great luck with it. They give updates on the website touringplans.com & they have made changes in the 2006 book available online. Also, if you read their details regarding best days to tour they say that the time of day you ride specific rides plays more into wait times than the day of the week. From the website you can also print out charts for each ride that gives you the best time to ride each thing.

I have to say - I put my own touring plans together following the Unofficial Guide suggestions and suggestions gathered from here and other places online. I then sucked up and subscribed to TGM after all the raves here. There was not one thing at the TGM site that I hadn't already read elsewhere. Not worth the $$ to subscribe to both that AND the Unofficial Guide, they're both very similar in their advice.
