Does anybody NOT like Boardwalk??????

Lots of people dislike the Boardwalk ... just like lots of people will not like every resort at WDW for whatever reasons.

Me ... I don't like the Boardwalk for a number of reasons:
(1) You can't get to the restaurants without going outside and if it's raining, there is no covered walkway ... unlike the Y&B which are all accessible via covered walkways.
(2) Just don't like the "feel" of the lobby ... just doesn't have a friendly Disney feeling ... personal opinion only!
(3) Hate the pool and slide (clown).
(4) Dislike the long long long hallways ... they seem very dark to me.
(5) Hate the parking lot being so far away.

Love the location and closeness to Epcot and Hollywood Studios though.

I agree with a lot of this. We don't mind the theme of the clown pool, but it feels basically surrounded by building instead of open to the water on one side like most Disney pools are. I also dislike that there's no food court. It's not a bad resort, just not the right fit for us.

We haven't stayed at the Boardwalk, but probably won't book there. It's not that we DISliked the boardwalk area, but it just didn't really do much for us when we visited it. We shopped a little and got a bite to eat, but felt like we'd seen everything after about an hour. We looked at each other like "now what?" I suppose if we were there without kids, we'd be more likely to go listen to jazz at Jelly Rolls, but we're not really club/dancing kind of people, so Atlantic Dance Hall doesn't hold much appeal, we're not beer drinkers so Big River Brewing Works is not a big draw, and we're not huge sports fans so we just walked on by ESPN Club. It seemed like a nice place to spend a little time, but I wouldn't go out of my way to stay there during our entire trip.

It is not our favorite for all the reasons listed above. I find the circus like atmosphere distressing. It is a fun place to visit, but I don't want to stay there.

If I am going to be pick an Epcot resort it will always be the Yacht Club.

I've stayed at the Boardwalk on both the Inn and Villa side. DF's family stays there every Christmas and while I understand its appeal to some, it really isn't my favorite. It's very loud if your room overlooks the Boardwalk (street performers at night, boat whistles in the morning). The hallways are confusing to me, I really don't like the food options (their Quick Service is a tiny bakery that can have a line WELL out the door at busy times), and it just always seems... crowded. Certainly the location is desirable but for that, I think I'd prefer to try out the Beach Club next time.

Of the 3 Epcot resorts, I rank it 3rd .... I don't really not like it but I do like BC and YC more.

I can't say anything concrete yet, since DH and I are staying there for the first time this Oct., but we did visit the lobby when we stayed at the YC a couple of years ago, and we didn't like it. Seemed kind of small and disjointed. However, as others have said, it is the closest to Epcot and DHS, and we hear a lot of positive things, too, so we're going to give it a shot.

I love the look of Boardwalk, but sadly I will never stay there...unless they get rid of that clown slide. I hate clowns and refuse to swim while watching what appears to be an evil clown regurgitating children that it's tried to consume. :scared:

We stayed at the Boardwalk last summer and I would not stay there again.

1. No food court and you have to go outside to eat.
2. Last stop out of 5 for the busses. We travel with our daughter
who is in a wheelchair. Very hard to get a bus at busy times.

love this image. well, not love, but you know what i mean...

We like BW, but we love BC.

BW is a nice place. Its got lots to do right outside. Several different dining options. Nice atmosphere. It also has some downsides like very long walks to your room and inconvenient parking.

We prefer BC because its a more relaxed atmosphere and quieter.

We stayed once and most likely only once. Really loved the decor of the rooms, the location and that's about it. I agree with all the above mentions (other than the clown thing), but my real turn-off to the resort came from the staff. I have stayed at most of the Disney resorts, other than the values and I found the CMs at the BW and BC to be the least friendly and least accommodating. I also found housekeeping wasn't the best. Just my experience...

I don't.... I actually find it boring. Same thing goes for BC and YC too though. I don't really like the style of any of them. When I'm at WDW I'd rather stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge or even the All Stars, I find them much fun and that's what counts for me when we're at WDW! :cloud9::wizard:

I also haved stayed at BW once and probably only once.(However, never say never!) We had a not so pleasant experience with our room and the staff was anything but helpful or pleasant. In addition, I guess the room we were moved to after our 1st room was the only room in the resort without a full balcony.:confused3Oh well, the YC still rocks!:flower3:
