Does an alcoholic drink replace a snack credit?

I haven't looked into purchasing a dining plan in over 10 years and I see a lot has changed. If I order an alcoholic drink at a table service meal will that use my snack credit allowance?

No, it would not use a snack credit. Each quick service meal or table service meal using a dining plan includes 1 alcoholic beverage (wine, beer or cocktail) for guests 21 years of age and over, with valid identification.

Something that has changed in the past 10 years is, it is no longer possible to exchange 1 QS meal for 3 snacks. That one has been a game changer for our family and lessens the value of the DDP for us.

Another possible change from when you last used the DDP is that the tip is no longer included. That is paid OOP. And the cost of alcohol factors into the tip.

Thank you. I think I will get the dining plan for the first fwo-nights first of our split stay. The wording on their website had me questioning this. I was reading it as you can either use a snack credit or order an alcoholic drink with your meal.

And just to clarify - snack credits cannot be used on alcohol.

Most of the quick services only offer pre-packaged (like can of beer, single serve wine or hard seltzer, etc) or none (like Casey’s at MK). A good alcohol combo QS place is Docking Bay 7 t HS! That’s kind of rare though, most QS places are either a good value for the food or the drink, just not both. The QS in EP/Mexico is another strong combo within the parks.

Table service generally have a good selection. I think they now include any single drink up to $28 (no flights or souvenirs).

I don’t drink alcohol, so can’t help with that. I just want to make sure you know the refillable mug will also work at your 2nd hotel. I believe it is good for 14 days use.

You can use a snack credit to get a bottle of soda, water, or Powerade. Not the best use of a snack credit, but it can be done.

The wording says nonalcoholic drink, though. Which is accurate. You can get a snack or beverage with the snack credit. This is separate from what is included with the meals.

That's a plus for this trip, since its a muti-split stay. I'm rarely drink alcohol, but my son will be with me for those first two days and I will have a drink with him at dinner.
