My daughter is 10 and has Gold pass from when she goes with her mom. Will I be able to use the 20% discount perk she has with the Gold pass even though she's a minor? Or do I need to also have a Gold pass ? Her pass will need to be renewed as well before we go.

thx

Based on my experience, I would not expect to get the discounts with her AP. You have to show your picture ID (drivers license) when getting the discount. The names on the AP and ID have to match. Before my daughter had an ID she would buy her own souvenirs with birthday money and the sales clerks would hassle her to see her ID (she was only 12) before giving her a discount. Once I was going to pay for it, but my DD she showed her AP. They hassled me about that too by saying "who's is going to pay! We can only give the discount to the person if they pay!" I said she is too young to have an ID! I have an AP too" and they gave us the discount. So if she pays and has an ID (maybe a passport) you could use it through her. My experience is that they aren't real flexible with that.

I give the person with the AP room charge privileges, so they're "paying. " I don't know how they expect you to deal with the ID issue for a minor, though.

I was wondering this too. DH, DD, DS, and I all have AP and are going with my mother in law and sister in law in a few weeks. If DH and I go off on our own to have dinner, I take it the kids will get a hard time trying to use their AP discount when MIL and SIL go to get dinner?

I would put charging privileges on the minors magic band, get them a state id card and you should be good to go.

Passports are expensive, but SO handy for minors who travel, even domestically.
We have both for our children but to carry a state ID around a park is more convenient. I always worry about loosing passports when we travel.
