Does American Airlines ever add flights?

We have a trip booked for WDW in October. I've been watching the various flights and had a round trip in mind. am was just waiting to see if fares adjusted, but I was keeping an eye on the seats available. Almost overnight the return trip (from MCO to PHX) was booked. There are only 7 seats available on the plane and they are asking first class prices for those seats (and they are exit row seats where my kids cannot sit).

Any chance that American Airlines adds a flight, or am I doomed to look for connection flights????

I feel like we're getting into the more fixed part of the schedule for an OCT flight, i guess there's always a chance of flight times shifting and people choosing different itineraries.

We just booked our American flights for April, I'm really hoping the flights change so that we can rebook on Southwest when that itinerary is published.

PHX is a hub for American so you shouldn't have an issue finding a direct flight to MCO, even if you have to be flexible with the departure time. Keep checking as October is still a bit far out.

The odds that American adds a MCO-PHX flight now is very slim. In past years it may have been possible but with limited supply of both planes and staff, I just don't see it.

Have to agree wiht EACarlson. AA just this week switched around flights. I too am going in October and booked months ago. Flights incresed by 200-300.

Airlines have been adjusting their schedules more frequently this year due to Covid and their inability to accurately forecast demand. AA has been finilizing their schedules around 2 months out. This past weekend American adjusted their schedule for October. I'm flying ORD-MCO in late October and they condensed 5 daily flights into 4. My 7:15pm flight became a 5pm flight.

As far as October on AA, I highly doubt they will adjust it again.

It seems more likely that they might cancel a flight than add one. It's possible but I wouldn't expect it at all.

Sometimes they do. I wouldn't not book the flight because of the exit rows seats. They are going to move you and there is never a shortage of people who want exit row seats which is why exit rows are either upsold or reserved for status flyers to begin with.

Interesting thread. Just got notified by American that our flight times have changed. We now leave and arrive 3 hours later.
From our airport, I have never seen them add flights, simply cancel some instead (but we are a smaller airport).
