Does "Airborne" work?

I use it when I feel like I am coming down with a cold, and it usually works. At least, it lessens my symptoms and lessens the length of the cold.

I've also tried Cold-eeze and Zicam with good results. My DS17 used Cold-eeze this fall when he started coming down with a cold during "tech week" for his HS theater show. He had a lead role and could not get sick. A few days of Cold-eeze and he was MUCH better.

I'm a big believer in Zicam myself. Been taking it a couple times a day lately as I feel like I'm fighting off the cold everyone at works seems to have had. Since I can't get the nasal gel one anymore, I've been taking the spray one. So far, so good(knock on wood)!

I do take Airborne if I feel I'm coming down with a cold. No idea if it works, but I like the taste and I figure it doesn't hurt. What I've heard is best is the Zicam spray--gets absorbed into the bloodstream faster than other forms of zinc. I also use that, but do not like the taste, so gag my way through it. :rotfl:

I do not think that any of that works as a prophylactic, however. And as far as I know, it doesn't help with influenza. Of course the liquid alone is important, but like was mentioned, it makes expensive urine. :rotfl2:

If you truly have influenza, why isn't he taking the tamiflu as a preventative? I've read that it is recommended if a close family member comes down with the flu.

I had the flu last month and nobody came down with it. My partner got a bad cold, but not the high fever and body aches that I got. I thought for sure she'd end up sick after the germs we exchanged. :bitelip:

I hope you're feeling better soon! It is a miserable virus.

No.

It doesn't work because it can't work.

People who say it works are either selling it or have been suckered by those who do.

Want to stay healthy? Take a centrum, drink enough water and get enough sleep. Wash your hands often and keep them off your face.

Amen

I think you should always cover your mouth when you cough too. Whether its allergies, cold, flu, or your drink just when down the wrong pipe. Coughing out into the open air is rude and inconsiderate. As a nurse people cough directly into my face all the time and it drives me insane. My 3 year old coughs into her arm. No excuse for an adult who has arms to not do the same.
