We dont usually fly AC, but need to go to Seattle (from YYZ) in the summer and only AC offers a direct flight with good times, but Ive been watching for months and never see a sale...even subscribe to their emails..do they ever have sales, have i missed the boat for a sale for summer flights?

It's hard to even tell what a sale is with the flight prices fluctuating so much. Last week a Westjet flight I wanted was $230 in the morning (no sale and I didn't grab it right away) and then $1224 in the afternoon and then $440 two days later and now is $515. It is insanity.

They do,but I find it better to check myself everyday ,multiple times a day,for best pricing. It does and can change a few times a day.

Tip: set a Google Alert for "Air Canada Sale" and you'll get updates as they happen. You'll also get a lot of useless alerts that contain the same words, but aren't a fare sale, but the system isn't perfect :P I've tried price-watching sites like Hopper etc... and I find the Google Alert just works better.

Air Canada definitely has seat sales! I was stalking my flights for months before booking. I had decided in advance what my top price was and got lucky to snag it at $100 less than that. I also had a gift card to put against the cost so I indulged and bought myself a higher priced seat and some snacks for my 2nd flight from YYZ-MCO. My R/T ticket with upgrades came to just over $500. With my GC I paid just over $400. Flying from NW Ontario so I am very happy with that price. ☺️
As others have said, you have to be constantly checking flight prices all the time to get the best deals. I find Monday afternoon and Early Tuesday morning are the best times to be checking for good prices.

o_O How do you set an alert for a Google search? I consider myself to be relatively tech-savvy, but had no idea you could do this. I know you can set price alert for Google Flights, but not for search itself.

Just visit this link! https://www.google.ca/alerts

You put your keywords in at the top, then you can choose the region to search in, how often to get results, sources you want results from (news, blogs etc...), then you'll get emails when those keywords come up on Google. Once you're done waiting for the sale, you can go back and delete the alert if you want. VERY handy!
