Does adding your UCT tix to MDE activate the tix?

More questions, sorry.

If we add an old paper tix from Undercover Tourist to my husband's My Disney Experience (MDE) account today at 55 days before check-in...

is the ticket activated at that time we add it to the MDE account?

or is the ticket not activated until he enters a park when we arrive in November? We want to put the tix on a Magic Band as soon as the option appears.

What would happen if, heaven forbid, we end up not going to WDW due to unforseen circumstance. Once ticket is added to MDE account, is it considered "used" in a situation like that and cannot be used at a later date once trip was rescheduled?

Many thanks again.

No. Tickets aren't used until they are, well, used to enter a park. ;)

A related question, if anyone knows -- I got a sizeable tax refund last year and bought a number of tickets from UT before the price went up to use over the next several years. If I link ticket numbers to MDE, and then when we go I grab a different pair of tickets, it shouldn't make any difference, should it? They are all 5 day Park-Hoppers, so theoretically I would just have to dis-associate the old ticket numbers, and associate the new ticket numbers, right?

Just to clarify...you don't actually put the ticket on the band. You link the ticket to your MDE account. Then, the chip in the band can access the information in the WDW database. It may seem like a small distinction, but understanding that nothing is actually on the band makes it easier to understand the whole system.

Many guests are ending up with multiple bands due to multiple resort stays. Each band is interchangeable as they all access the same information in your MDE account. You can go ahead and link the ticket to his MDE profile now. There is no need to wait until you are eligible to customize bands.

But...as others have said...tickets linked to MDE are no different than any other ticket. Each day you enter a park one day will be deducted for your total. If you end up not going this time the days will stay linked to your account until you do go.
