Doctor Who Dicussion *Episode Guide on Post 27! Warning: Contains Spoilers*

Good news for those who missed Doctor Who last week! You can watch it again on BBC Three at 9.00pm Friday! Yay!!!

I don't think I would be able to survive without watching episode 1 for a 4th time! Well maybe... All I know is that for episode 2 I will only be able to watch it once; twice if I get bored... :teeth:

I hope episode 2 is good, if not then we always have episode 3 to look forward to. Can't wait for K-9! (and to a lesser extent Sarah Jane, but who really cares about her? ;) )

The Guide is updated Btw. :)

The Dr. who webby is updated! Yay! :goodvibes

Not sure if I have told you guys this before, but please note if you have Sky, press red on BBC 1 and you can get a 5-min preview of the next series! Isn't that great! :teeth:

Also, don't forget to view your Tardisode on the Dr Who webby and try the Mickey game. It's really fun, and has a small insight into the next series.

While your at it, you could always try attack of the graske. You need to have realplayer to do it though.

Since no-one is talking, I thought I would post a couple of questions for you to talk over. :teeth:

  1. Who do you reckon will leave first (or at all): David or Billie?
  2. How long do you reckon the new series will go on for?
  3. Do you reckon they will do another reincarnation meeting ep?
  4. Who do you reckon the 11th Doctor will be?

My thoughts:

  1. Since the BBC have the policy of denying the inevitiable (e.g. Chris Eccelston leaving; David Tennant as his replacement) I assume that Billie is going to leave before David. They have so many stories about her leaving, and so far the best they have come up with is that she is at LEAST staying for season 3.

Although, both Billie and David were doing next to nothing before this; Billie was trying to become an actress/buring her music career while David was going from project to project with little credit (best so far was Casanova and Harry Potter, but they didn't really help his career much  )
  2. I am hoping that the "new" series will go on until I am 40 years old, so that way I can join the people who want a 2nd revival. Personally, I think with Russell T Davies working on it, it probably will never die again.
  3. I am hoping they will! It would be so cool to see old meet new. Although, Eccel and McGann maybe hard to recruit as McGann only did it once, and Eccel didn't want to be type cast. Oh, and 3 of the doctors are dead so they are out I guess.. :teeth:
  4. Hoping it will be Alan Davies! I was hoping that he would be No.10, but seeing as Davies wants to recruit people who had done stuff for him lately he stood no chance. With no main projects going other than Dr. Who, I guess it's open for anyone! I am just hoping that kid from the kid's TV series Kerching doesn't audition again; he stood no chance.

Your thoughts?

I saw this on the "Who is Doctor Who" webpage which is run by Rose's Girlfriend in the main series, and I thought you had to see this:

Is this the way to Raxacoricofallapatorius?

Well, Episode 2 is over and done with. I thought it was great, despite my hesitation. Funny all the way through, and really scary. But in a good way.

My sister insisted I watched it first before she did, and even then she didn't watch most of it! Oh well, at least she heard some of it. :)

Lots of Torchwood (and to a lesser extent, Bad wolf) references. At least this time we will know what to expect!

Can't wait till next week; K-9!! Woo!!! My Economics teacher says he rememebers K-9 from when he was my age! (must of been a long time ago.. :teeth: ) Then again, my RE teacher remembers the FIRST EPISODE of Doctor who. Now that's old! :)

Your thoughts? Oh and, I told you that David's true accent would shine through on this one. :teeth:

I missed last weeks episode, so tonight was the first time I saw the new Dr. I thought it was OK, I've seen worse. I can't wait for next weeks episode though ~ as I loved K-9, so I'm looking forward to that :)

I am enjoying this second series even more than the first. Although I liked Christopher E as Dr Who, I did find him a bit dour and prefer David T as the Dr. :)

I loved last weeks episode! I watched it 3 times last weekend; just like the week before's episode.

Actually found out about the Wierd Diamound mentioned in the episode; it actually DOES exist, and it's one of the crown jewels! What Queen Victoria didn't know, is that the Koh-i-noor is GOOD luck for Women! It's pretty cool, despite the curse for male leaders..

Can't wait for next weeks epi! :goodvibes: Battle of the Sidekicks! K-9 would probably win though.. ;) Hope it's good though, it's been very hiped up. Normally things that are hiped are rubbish (e.g. the ricky gervais episode of the simpsons) but hopefully this will be an exception.

Please note that Anthony Head; famous for being the Prime Minister in Little Britain; is in this episode! Hope he is good at being bad! I will be probably be focused at the K-9 parts of this episode to notice him that much..

Also, note that Dr. Who starts 5 minutes later this week. No Idea why though... I also found out two new stars to the spin-off "Torchwood"; they are Burn Gorman; who I have NO idea what he does and Naoko Mori, who was the Doctor in Aliens of London.

Can't wait for Torchwood. :goodvibes:

My retractment, based on a statement I have mentioned before:

Chris Evans is NOT going to appear in Doctor Who this season. It was mostly due to speculation that someone suggested he was..

I am sowwey. :guilty:

Episode 3's over. Any thoughts?

I thought it was OK; bit hiped up. K-9 wasn't in it that much at all! Still, with K-9 Mark IV on the scene I think that Elizabeth Sladen may return again one day.

Oh, and in case you can't tell, the only thing I talk about is the new series of Doctor Who. :)

It was great to see K-9 again last night, the episode itself was OK, nothing brilliant, though I am missing Christopher Eccleston

Elisabeth Sladen let slip in an interview that's posted on the BBC website that Sarah Jane is going to be in a total of 3 episodes this season, so I assume K-9 (or K-9 Mark IV at least) will be back as well...

I really enjoyed this week's episode, I thought it was the best one in the series so far. Obviously not enough K9, though.

My only other complaint was that I thought the creatures (there is no way I can spell their name!) looked a bit "complete" and in proportion if you see what I mean. I would have thought they would have looked more out of proportion as they had taken bits from other races. Still, they were definitely frightening enough!

Really looking forward to next week's. That looks really scary. Reminded me of an old Tom Baker episode "The Talons of the Weng-Chiang" with scary Mr Sin - a ventriloquist's dummy who lived in a box but was really alive! He had a similar sort of face.

Must remember to move the sofa out so that I can get behind it if it gets too scary next week!

It was nice to see Sarah Jane again and she hasn't changed much, she must have been in a time warp herself, K9 was very good, would be nice to see more of him, I felt the CGI monsters were good and the basis of the story good, but the actual 'plot' was a bit short on dialogue, the bits with Sarah Jane and Rose were good but it took over fighting the monsters, it was just added pictures of them, every so often without script, and the doctor just walking around the pool saying 'stop' it.

I love Doctor who but the best bits before were the four/six parts and the cliff hanger each week, in 45 mins you have to go straight in with the Doctor already there and teaching, and no build up

I dislike the idea of people thinking that there is a love story here; although there have been MANY hints at the rose and the doctor in love with rose/any female companion he picks up, it's irrelevent! Rose is more interested in the free ticket any when around the world. And yes, I do mean any when.

Chris Ec was cool, but I am just about warming up to Tennant now. He's so funny! :goodvibes:

Really? I checked the BBC webby and got nothing. Perhaps you can give a quote?

If it's true, then my idea of a Sarah Jane Smith/K9 Finale will come true :teeth:

I agree with you there! Not enough K9 - no wonder Sarah Jane gave up on him! Also, I didn't think about the Krillitines that way; they should be miss-match creatures! Oh well, whatever saves them on their CGI bill.

That's a definite with the sofa thing. Although, that episode does look cool! :goodvibes: I must find out about Madame du pompadour, or whoever she is. I know she is the attendant to King Louis XV, but what did she do? And what significance is this to the series?

Again, I agree with you on that one. It would be nice to see more episodes which are less rushed, but with CGI and all it would take forever and would be very expensive..

I think they relyed on the Tardisode too much; it just went straight into the plot assume you saw the Tardisode, unlike tooth and claw where it just gave a small insight into the episode, and was briefly commented on in the ep in case you didn't see it. Space it out, you have 45 mins!

I would think they should consider 1hr episodes; that way more spaced out.

My brother has that one in his closet! :goodvibes: Unfortunately, it was one of the episodes which front covers scared me as a child so I didn't watch, along with Robot... Don't think I'll be watching it any time soon.. :scared:

My (other) brother thinks that the Clockwork people are reminiscent of V for Vendetta... Wierd Huh?

Edit: My plan of this week (and every) is to convert as many people to watch the new series as possible before episode 6.

So far: 2, 1 almost there..

I just replayed the Elisabeth Sladen interview clips and realized I had misheard her. I thought she had said that she was doing 3 episodes. What she in fact said was that, at the readthrough, there were about a hundred people there 'because we were doing 3 episodes'. I guess she just meant that the production was doing 3 episodes at the readthrough, one of which was hers. :(

She did say later in the interview (with BBC Norfolk) that she thought this would be the last time we would see Sarah Jane Smith on Doctor Who, but she hoped it was not the last time we would see Sarah Jane Smith; perhaps a Torchwood connection coming up?

Pokemon_master, give the Talons of the Weng-Chiang a try if you're feeling brave one day! Despite it really frightening me (and I really am old enough to know better!) it remains my favourite of the Tom Baker era. Just remember to have the sofa on standby!! :rotfl:

Robot is also great, this is the episode when Tom takes over as the Doctor.
