Does anyone know what documents we should have to travel into the US with my stepson ? Or where I can find out ?

Hi Bryn. Mostly I'd just like to say "welcome to the DIS"! I've never been in this situation, but I would suggest carrying a note which has been signed by the child's legal guardian (or other legal guardian?) and notarized. Don't forget to take the child's birth certificate or passport along with you, too. I'm hoping others will answer, though - this is just my best guess in a situation where a non-custodial or joint-custodial parent is taking a child for a trip.

I would check with Customs and Immigration, but I believe you need a notarized note from other parents involved not travelling with you as well as birth certificate, (not copy), or valid passport.

Hi we took my step brother in 99 and we got a note from his mom but we were never asked for anything when they crossed the border to go to the airport other than where they were going. We did take a letter signed by his mom and my dad and his birth certificate but never did need any of it but it is good to have just in case. We were told to bring these things by canada customs as a precaution hope this helps
