We're travelling with DD6 and StepDaughter11 on cruise. Although DH is listed on SD's birth certificate, I am not. Hate to deal with his ex, but should/must we get a "permission slip" from her to take SD on cruise? He has joint custody and papers say only to provide ex with 30 days written notice of itinerary.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

forgot to say, she has the same last name as the rest of us travelling...Will they overlook mother's name on birth cert?

Anyone with any experience with this?

my guess is that if you are traveling with the same last name, then they probably won't even notice that you are not on the birth certificate. basically I believe that they look these over just to verify that you have a valid proof of idea, and that they don't even bother to check mothers name on it...

good luck!

Thanks prymsu.

Called DCL and they said her bio mom can sign the cruising signature form along with DH and having a certified letter is a good idea. So, I guess we'll do this because I can't stand the thought of HUGE disappointment at the pier!
