Do your toddlers sleep.....

Here's how I feel about it.

Option 1: Walk to parking lot, take baby and bags out of stroller, fold up stroller, get on bus (or in car), get off bus, open stroller, put baby back in stroller, walk all the way back to your hotel room, collapse on the bed, baby is too excited to be in the hotel room to play so baby doesn't rest or nap, so load everything back up in the stroller, walk all the way back to the bus stop (or car), ride all the way back to the park, deal with another security check, biometrics, turnstiles, and walk back to where you left off. Entire process takes a few hours and no one sleeps.

OR

Option 2: Let baby sleep in the stroller and go on with your day as usual.

I have tried both and I prefer option 2. :)

That is exactly what i was afraid would happen for us! It usually doesnt work for me to try to 'plan' naptimes, even at home.

Thanks for all your replies everyone! I think that I will probably try the nap in the parks first, but not rule out returning to the room. Hopefully we can find the way that works best for ds.

Sounds like a great way to approach the situatuon. One tip, get an umberella stroller, my Chicco caddy is awesome BTW-I will tell you why if you ask. The big bulky ones are terrible to even be near on the bus. They take up a bunch of room and they appear to be cumbersome.

I told DS once that "Mickey, Minnie and Donald were taking a nap, the park was closed and wouldn't reopen until all little boys had finished their naps". I was 6-1/2 mo. pregnant at the time and was dying to take a nap. :teeth: - It worked!!!

All my guys have been stroller sleepers. They crashed comfortably when ready, I got a hot uninterrupted meal. I think going back to the hotel takes too long and my kids don't sleep well there even at night, going back and forth just makes it too busy for them to fall asleep.

Thanks everyone. :flower:

As far as the stroller goes, we have a graco travel strolller. It folds up to be slightly larger than a traditional umbrella stroller, but with about the same weight. It has an sunshade and reclines, as well as a smaller basket. It has worked well for the zoo, and he uses it often when I dont want to lug around the big one. I think it will work great for us, but it will probably be one of the last times we can use it, because due to its smal size, ds's head is aweful close to the sunshade.

My boys stroller nap. This last trip we thought we'd do the afternoon back at the hotel thing, and that was a much bigger nightmare. Napping in the stroller just means you get the chance to do the adult things kids don't want to do. I find this much easier. There is a thread on the tips board called "worst tips", you might want to do a search for it, where a lot of people go over the pros and cons of taking afternoon breaks. There is a similiar thread on here from back in June too. Might give you both sides of the picture.

Shoot at home I don't even get my dd who is 2 to nap at all. I dunno if she will nap in the parks. I suspect probably. We will likely be there all day and I bet being in the stroller she might conk out.

We aren't staying onsite so we will be 45+ minutes from our "lodging". So either she will sleep in the stroller or not at all. We usually take days between going to parks. I think we are doing AK and MK but if we squeeze in a 3rd day maybe Epcot. I dunno we are moving to Florida so we will be close to go later in the year too. :) We usually have a rest day and a beach day between.
