Do you wearyour wedding set everyday?

I wear mine everyday but take them off as soon as I get home. I take mine in every 6 months to have the prongs checked and if I needed them repaired or the rings sized, the work is free thanks to the warranty DH bought when he bought the rings (I think it cost him $100 at the time). If I lose the diamond in that 6 month period, they also replace the diamond for free. If I don't get the rings checked on time and lose the diamond, we pay to replace it.

OP - Can you get a new set of prongs?

I wear mine everyday, at least when I leave the house. If I'm home, I might have them on or off, depending on what I'm doing...no sense in trying to clean them if I'm doing messy cooking or cleaning with harsh chemicals. I don't sleep with them on, the engagement ring snags the sheets.
DH wears his every day, but takes it off for yard work etc.

I sort of don't understand why people would wear ANY jewelry 24/7, but that's just me.

I wear my rings when I feel like it. When I don't, I take them off.

DH hates wearing his ring (and a watch). He wears it when he's out of the house. The second he walks in the door, it's the first thing he puts away.

I used to grade diamonds at GIA a few years ago. FYI, wearing diamonds while showering, cleaning the house using chemicals, working out (sweating) etc....it's all bad. MANY common chemicals can damage diamonds. They are not indestructable. Even prolonged contact with perspiration can etch diamonds or cause them to crack.

The only thing you should ever use to clean a diamond is distilled water with a drop of Dawn (or similar) NON ANTIBACTERIAL dish soap. That's what we used to clean off diamonds during the grading process at GIA. Anything more harsh than that can damage them.

This. I read that chlorine caused damage to diamonds, yet I see people with theirs on while swimming and doing all sorts of house work. I don't understand why in the world you would wear something that costs so much money and dip it in chemicals. My DH did this with his wedding band. He was at work and forgot to take it off while he was cleaning something. They were never able to get whatever it was completely off. If he wore it, his finger turned bright red, stung and itched like crazy. We had to get him a new band. Problem solved.

For me, I just can't stand the feel of rings, and lord help me if I have to wear a necklace. It is all I can do to wear my diamond one if we go out somewhere nice. In the car on the ride home I am pulling it off. I just go insane.

I gave worn my rings since we were married I never take them off. I only was forced to take them off when I was pregnant due to swelling
