Do you wear pantyhose?

I must be completely out of fashion! I'm 30, and I can't stand wearing dress shoes without nylons, so I do wear them. They also help cover up the giant scar on my leg from knee surgery.

I despise pantyhose. I stopped wearing them when my mother stopped forcing me, so like 3rd grade! I wear the thick kind during the winter, but thats it. I don't even own the normal ones. I mean, what's their purpose? If its just to give you a deeper consistent color, I'm not concerned. I'm Irish and I'm pale, I accept this and don't try to pretend I'm tan.

Garter belt and stockings when appropriate - stockings are not hot or constricting.

As an added bonus they are sexy.

It's so interesting to read the different post. I am wondering if the answer is influenced by geography or age. I am 30 and from the north. I don't think i own panty hose and there is no way i would wear them to anywhere other then a wedding in the dead of winter with closed toed shoes of i did sport them.

I try not to ever wear a skirt. I wear knee-highs with dress slacks if I have to go somewhere dressy. For a formal occasion I guess I would wear pantyhose if I absolutely *had* to wear a dress.

Like most others, I'll wear tights in the winter.

If I, for whatever reason had to wear hose or tights, I would wear closed toed shoes.

I am from northern IL, and inching closer to 40.

Just re-read your post. For open toed shoes, no pantyhose.

I must be so old because we always wore the pantyhose with no lines/seams at the toes for the open toed shoes. In the rare occasion I would wear a dress or skirt at work (which would be extremely casual type), I would wear flats or sandals, no hose. If I had to go to another interview with a dressier type dress, I'd do pantyhose.

Lucky generation if pantyhose is going out of style.

I'm 38 and from the south, and I think I probably haven't worn them in 10 years. Nobody here ever does.

The Duchess of Cambridge wears them, so you are in good company!

Two pages in and no post from The Aviator, what! I figured he'd be all over this.

:thumbsup2 What she said. My scar is the ankle though.

I'm in skirts most days for work. It's tights from November to March, bare legs Memorial Day to as long as possible in September. Than sheers for the rest of year. I have 2 weddings in October and a formal dinner the first week in November I'll be in pantyhose for all of them.

For reference, I'm 31 and from the South. I too stopped wearing pantyhose when my mom stopped making me! Sometimes I wear tights in the "winter," but never ever ever with open-toed shoes!

Sent from me.

You must NOT live in the South! You would have heat stroke wearing pantyhose here from April-Oct.!

I can wear pantyhose in any weather. It can be 100 degrees & 90% humidity.

No hose with open toes!

I do wear pantyhose to work sometimes (strict dress code)

I'm 57. No pantyhose ever and nothing with open toed shoes. Tights in winter with closed toes shoes.

My legs have a lot of scars on them, so I always cover them up with opaque hose or tights on the rare occasion when I wear skirts or dresses.

I think everyone is in agreement that hose are a no-no with open toed shoes. But if I'm wearing a dressy black dress and black pumps, heck ya I'm wearing black pantyhose or thigh high stockings.

Just wanted to say that you should own your scars!! I am covered with scars from surgeries and injuries. There's no shame in scars!!
