Do you wear makeup to the parks?

I'm such a barbie, except for the perfect bod...

As a Mary Kay consultant, I'd feel naked without my skin care and cosmetics on a daily basis. You never know who you may run into.

I try to look my best whenever I step out the door as I may get a new customer or client for my other job. I loved the Cosby show when Cliff states "you wouldn't serve a nice, juicy steak on a trash can lid now would you? It's all in the presentation."

I also carry foundation and lip gloss for touch ups throughout the day.

At the parks, I wear:
* Skin Care - day solution (spf 15), moisturizer, oil-free hydrating gel (makes my face REALLY smooth)
* Foundation (creme to powder) or bronzing foundation (if needed) to give a tan glow
* Lip Gloss - Mary Kay just came back out with the Beach Bronze color which is AWESOME!!! Neve leave home without it.
* Waterproof Mascara
* Blush - very light and natural

Please PM me if you have any questions regarding our products as I have a website you can visit as well. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have.

can't agree more... MAC is a great product. i usually carry my MAC with me in my pouch for any "touch-ups" that i may have to do. my lipstick/liner has never melted on me.

also the MAC Studio Fix, which is a powder foundation - goes on and feels like a powder but covers like a foundation (and has SPF 15 in it - i usually wear it over a moisterizer that has 30 in it). from my experience with it in the park is that it holds up pretty good in the heat. i may only have to touch up on my "t-zone" or just my nose, because i may get a little oily. but the heat hasn't melted it off of my face. i live in south florida and wear it all the time.

Is the MAC Studio Fix the stuff that you put under foundation to help keep it on? I use the foundation and blot powder and I love it! I was also hoping it would stay on, I usually mix the foundation with an SPF moisturizer to make a tinted moisturizer but even in the heat in NJ it gets kind of greasy looking. Please let me know because I will definetely go get it!
Thanks! :wave2:

No, usually, if it is humid and hot and I feel like I will melt, the most I will wear it sunscreen. That includes to work. No Barbie for me. If the general public can't stand to see the "REAL" me, then that is their problem!~

StudioFix is a foundation and powder in one. I used it for a while, and it stayed on great. My skin keeps changing, though, and I can no longer wear MAC foundation (well, nothing stops me from wearing it, it just doesn't seem to work for me anymore). Anyway, here's a link to it:

I don't wear foundation in the summer months... a nice moisturizer.. (I use Mary Kay) I think it's great.. keeps you looking your very best .. IMO

I always use my Covergirl Marathon Waterproof Mascara !!! have done so for years... doesn't flake, nor do I ever have racoon eyes, even at the waterparks... still looking pretty eyed late in the day.. for the evening look to go out, just touch up with a little liner, & shadow & here we go. :flower1:

So.. I guess my advise is the Covergirl Marathon Mascara.. but remember you need a little bit of baby oil or eye makeup remover to take it off... hey, it last the whole day for you.

Thanks for that! How is it for covering trouble spots though, like under eye circles? I guess I want to know if it REALLY covers like a foundation. Thanks!

It did for me. You can use a sponge to put it on and it goes on a little thicker/heavier. If you want lighter coverage you can use a powder brush to put it on. I mostly used the sponge. I saw in your other post you were concerned with the greasy look. I always put this on over my moisturizer and never had a shiny/greasy look. If you can try it at a MAC counter, I think you will really like it. It's my favorite of all of their foundations, and I've tried them all.

yes, it really does cover...

i have redness that appears on my cheeks and forehead when i get hot or even just being nervous... and it covers it up very well too.

i used it on my wedding day too, and it worked great for the entire day - through an outside ceremony and later all the dancing we did at the reception.

i live in cyprus at the moment, and having a light tan [fake or otherwise] allows me to go without foundation. also if you have fair eyelashes try having them dyed. it allows me to go without mascara during the day.

I wear the same makeup up I would at home... I want nice photos, that I'm not ashamed to display around the home!

To JenJen212 and Bengalbelle,
Thanks for the info, I am definetely going to try it! :cool1:

Oh no!! With the heat i only wear suncreen and lipgloss just to look pretty in my pictures :teeth: also i wear my sunglasses and hat, cannot wear mascara not even waterproof, it wears off with the heat, water, i will look like a racoon LOL!!

Yes I will surely be wearing Makeup. Even if it only lasts until I hit the heat! I never leave home w/o my bronzer, waterproof mascara and lipgloss. My husband is always picking on me for that. As a matter of fact I was putting lip gloss on while driving to the hospital to deliver my DD at 4:30 am, and as soon as she was delivered I made sure I had my makeup staples on. Those hospital pics can be nasty!!!!

I couldn't agree more! I always wear makeup. I try to look my best when I leave my house, it makes me feel better.

I don't understand why people say their makeup doesn't last. I've been going to Disney World since 1983 and I've never had that problem. :confused3

:flower: I use Bare Minerals foundation but first I put a little sunscreen on my nose because in the heat the foundation will end up being wiped away due to sweating from sunglasses and my nose is the one place that always seems to get the sun. Then a light dusting of Mineral Veil then a little blush. Avon makes a great lip balm with spf15 that is a bronze with a mint fragrance. I usually skip putting on mascara in the morning when going directly to the parks since I am wearing sunglasses and no-one will be seeing my eyes and it gets us out a little quicker. When we come back to the room later in the day for a break I wash up and then put on my eyeliner and mascara for the evening since I will not be wearing sunglasses. princess:

I love the fact that touch-up is just that a touch-up. My nose and chin usually need one after being in the sun and heat all day at Disney. I like not having lines from going over where the makeup stayed.
My pores start to feel clogged and my skin gets itchy whenever I think about the make-up (CoverGirl, Revlon, anything liquid) I used to use. :scared1:
I live in HOT AND HUMID north Florida. Not uncommon to have 97 degrees with 97-100% humidity during the summer. My face feels dry and comfortable with the Bare Minerals on! I use to order it from QVC or Sephora but now the hair salon I go to carries it.
I will never put any other makeup on my face!! :flower:

Nancy

The closest place I know to get Bare Minerals is an hour away, but I'm going to plan to go soon since everyone is so happy with it.
