Just wondering how many people on the DIS wear glasses. And froggy after all your surgeries will you need glasses?

My husband and I both wear glasses.

yes I do...have since the 4th grade.

However I wear my contacts mostly now.

i used to wear coke bottles i mean glassers but now we arent sure, drs are shooting for 20 / 20 agter the eye repairs, even if it means a cornea replacement, so maybe i wont, so far all surgery has been one lids ,, they really havent started on myeye yet, due to the fact t hat medically it couldnt grow back,, but it has. i wentfrom no iris ( colored part) to full normal looking eye, and the cornea has grown back, its got scars on it at the moment, but hey say those arte just a laser prick to remove and fix so hopefully i wont have to wear glasses anymore, goingto be very odd,,lol

I wear glasses, tried contacts but couldn't get the hang of them, so I gave up,
I just lost my "good pair" of glasses before we moved, they just disappeared, I had them one moment, gone the next...no I wasn't wearing them at the time Haha, I had them hooked onto my shirt and had my sunglasses on, when I reached for my glasses, they were~ Poof!! Gone ~forever!! luckily I still had an older pair with the same prescription on my dresser..

I have an appointment tomorrow for an updated eye exam so I can order new glasses...

I didn't start wearing glasses until I was 19 y.o. and it was for distance.

Over the years my eyes got continually worse, now I need them 24/7.

I wear both glasses and contacts. I have the 'transitions glasses that get dark outside and light again inside. I love them! I just ordered myself a pair of colored contacts (blue) even though my eyes are already blue, I want to enhance the color a bit. I pick up a trial pair tomorrow to see if I'll like them or not.

For reading...and I hate it. Got them when I was 41. I need to buy some of those cheapo glasses and distribute them around the house, because I can't read a thing without them, and I usually can't find them.

Mostly contacts, but I wear glasses too. :3dglasses I am very very very nearsighted, but the idea of the laser surgery freaks me out.

Yes. I have worn glasses since I was 16.

My husband got glasses a couple of months ago because his arms weren't long enough anymore. :p

I wear contacts during the day and glasses at night. I really want to do LASIK (my contacts become very uncomfortable after 6-8 hours) but I am a big chicken and I'm not sure it is for me---I have dry eye....very mild...but what if LASIK made it worse!!! It's not like you can reverse that surgery or magically make your corneas pure and perfect again.

Well, I have them but I really don't wear them. I put my contacts in right when I get up, and take them out right before bed....my glasses perscription isn't strong enough, so I can't see through them...

So I put no...because I don't, really.

I love it when a women does the sexy libarian look

LOL..that's what I did :)
Costco has 3 pair for about $17 and I have 2 prescription pair....so desk in kitchen, computer desk, purse, bedroom and family room by my book ;)

I'm the only person in my family who doesn't need glasses, I've always had 20/20 vision. I really hope it stays that way, because I don't want to ever have to wear glasses, or put contacts in!

Yes, I wear glasses...megathick ones. However I only wear them at home, in public its always contacts for me. ;)

I have been needing glasses since the third grade, but for the past 19 years I have worn only contacts in public!
I voted yes, and may I say they are quite thick, also.
Interested in LASIK, but too broke to even bother researching it, or worry about the scary aspects.
But it's on the list of "things to do if we win the lottery."

I wore glasses since I was about 10.. but got laser surgery 2 years ago and am now just about 20/20!

best thing I ever did in my life!!!!

just a side note,, if yoiu do wear the transitions,, and eveer stop,, be prepared,, i couldnt see at all in light after the accident eevn thouhg my eyetesdted 20 20 it was so light sensitive that i had to wear good sunglasses even to watch tv for awhile,, gradually worked out of them till i got used to it, dr say was due to t he constant darkening of my tranbsitions and it left my eyers totally non light tolerant now i wear half a pair of sunglasses if i hgave to go outside for anyreason
