Of course this is my own humble opinion, but I think it is totally ridiculous for adults to be running around in "character" clothing. Today at the mall, there was a woman dressed head to toe in piglet clothes. Pink pants, a piglet tee, piglet cap, and she looked like a complete fool.

I do understand a tee shirt at the beach or some other outdoor event, but coats, pants, socks, where does it end? I never even dressed my kids like that when they were little.

In all my trips to WDW, I have never purchased any disney clothing.

EDIT: I did not mean to call any of you tacky. Perhaps my wording should be "I don't find character clothing particularly attractive" Please accept my apologies:snooty:

But I tell you, if you would have seen this woman today, you would have thought it was a tacky outfit;)

Hmm, Hello, I'm Serena and I'm tacky. Is there a 12 step program for people who don't like it? ;)

I just wear Disney tops and most only have a small amount of print on them.
Example: right now I have on a navy blue t-shirt that just says
Disney accross the chest.

I've had a few people at work  at my Disney socks. They are used to the rest of it. I usually try to find things that are a bit more subtle than the outfit you've discribed but I quess I'm tacky too.

I wear Disney fitted tops, some bought at Disney parks, some just in regular high street shops. I wouldn't wear a full outfit though. I won't wear Disney t-shirts, but I don't often wear t-shirts anyway. Over here in England you can buy Disney tops is a lot of shops at the minute so I don't kind it tacky.

I wear very little character clothing also. The character clothes that I do wear out in public are very low key - like I have this t-shirt (a favorite in my closet) that is light grey and in the very top corner by the shoulder it has a small Mickey Mouse and underneath him it say WDW in small letters.

The character clothes that I do have an abundance of is pajamas. I have bought several pairs at the Disney Store and at WDW. This way I can wear my favorite characters in the privacy of my own home.:)

I do on the other hand put my girls in a lot of character clothes from the Disney Store - especially Princess stuff. I can't seem to stay away from it (I think I'm addicted;) )

LOL, at the moment I'm wearing a dark pink and white tie-dyed Tigger t-shirt. It's tacky, and fun.

I must be really tacky I have a tinkerbell tattoo and wear alot of Mickey and tink clothing oh well

Guess I need a 12 step program too! I wear mostly Tink shirts, with my Tink necklace, my Pooh watch, carry my Tink keychain and get into my van with Tink and Buzz danglers on the windshield. People driving behind me get to read my license plate that says "Been there.. Done that...Going Back.." Don't get me started on my Grumpy nightshirt, Tink bottoms and the countless Mickey and Tigger flannels that I own. I don't have any character shorts or socks. Tacky? dunno that I'd call how I dress tacky..more like kid friendly since I work with children, they always seem to like what I'm wearing and they seem to feel more at ease when we start talking about WDW

edited to add that I am wearing a Grumpy shirt at the moment

I proudly wear WDW theme park or resort shirts because I love them. I'm always hoping that another WDW fan will notice and say something to me :teeth:. I'm always on the lookout for people wearing WDW stuff. I also love my WDW fleece gloves and MK ski cap.

I'll wear non-WDW shirts with Mickey and the gang on them, but no Winnie the Pooh or princess stuff for me. I do have one very subtle Tinkerbell raglan shirt. Don't wear Disney socks, pants, or dresses though.

I will say that the Pooh stuff is too ubiquitous and cutesy.
But I wouldn't call it tacky - just not my style.

Krista :earsgirl:

90% of my shirts have something Disney on them! :p I consider shirts purchased in the parks as my "good" shirts. :hyper: Today I wore my new Eeyore shirt I found at the Disney store on clearance in the fall. First day it was warm enough for me to wear a t-shirt. :sunny:

90% of my tees are either Disney or college ......guess I'm a tacky gal too ;)
Love my character socks too.....and have earrings and watches too :teeth: But I'm happy :)

Wearing a La Nouba tee now!

Although Piglet is not something I personally would wear, I don't think I'd call someone who wears it "tacky". If wearing Disney character clothing is tacky, I'd venture to say more than 50% of the Dis is guilty.

I have Tink on a few of my tops and most of them have been lovingly given to me by my kids for birthday, Christmas, Mother's Day etc. I'm not ashamed to wear them, I'm a proud Disney fan!

BTW, I am wearing a black t-shirt with the castle on it, says Walt Disney World, Magic Kingdom and has fireworkd behind the castle. Not one that I wear out of the house only because it's pretty old and faded.

WHOAAAAA..!!!!!!!! king of Tacky here, I have over 100 Mickey Mouse neckties...4 leather Mickey Jackets,, two Mickey vest and bowtie sets to wear with my Tux..never leave the house without one of my Mickey watches or my Mickey ring,,

many Mickey button down shirts....

and of course drive everywhere in the Mickeymobile,

I may be tacky to some people, but on any given day wherever I go it's very common for complete strangers to compliment me on my Mickey clothing or most definitely on the Mickeymobile, probably within a 50 mile radius of my home , I've had strangers walk up to me and say,..hey you're the Mickey guy, and chat for a while,,
people of all ages and all walks of life,
people who I've briefly chatted with in the office complex where I work bring me things from WDW

so I may be tacky ..but if so,,,my experience has been that people Love tacky,

so call me what you want, but I guarantee I make people smile by being tacky,,

I love character clothes too! I am currently wearing a black polo shirt with a mickey logo on it. It is one of my more subtle pieces!

I even have a Kim Possible T-Shirt that I wore to work yesterday (of course, to put that in perspective--I run a Nursery School.)

The only thing I have with "Disney" on is my sunhats! :sunny:

I don't think it's tacky at all.

And then there's my DS who wore a Mickey Mouse vest with his tux at his wedding. The whole reception was Disney. The invitations, cake top, cake knife, champagne glasses, decorations..... all Mickey & Minnie.

Tacky?

Hello my name is Mad4Mickey and I wear Mickey Mouse socks to work ...........I also wear Mickey Scrubs .......( hanging my head in shame) I also have Disney T shirts .........
But then again I belong to one of the DIS CLiques and cant be looked at as normal anyway :p

BTW I would have thought the Pink outfit was tacky :teeth:

On the new episode of "What Not To Wear" on TLC they gave the girl the hardest time about her character clothing.

I don't wear clothes with logos or characters on them... I think a lot of character clothing is kinda cheesy :duck: but I do like some of the new fitted T's they sell in the parks now. They look like someone designed them rather than just slapping Pooh on a Hanes Beefy T. If they didn't cost so much I probably would have bought at least one when I was there.

I will admit to having Minnie socks though ;)

I don't wear any character or logo clothing either, but I don't really care what others wear. To each their own. But the piglett outfit sounds a little over the top.
