Would you like Eagle Pines to be built?

I keep coming across the artist renderings on the internet and I must say that I love it.

It just seems Old Florida like and much the style of what we like to stay in.

I also like the fact that there were going to be villas in the main building.

What do you think?

:D

Yes.

Especially since I've already got it coded into my DVCPlanner program....:p :p :p

I would love to see it. Is there a website wit the artists renderings? What I would love is a DVC area at the Contemporary, I would be first in line for that one!!

looks great, sounds kind of like the way Vero is set up. Now for the next question, hopefully you can't point me in the direction for this one also, where would this resort have been built. I have seen ssigns for the Eagle Pines Course, but that is it? Thanks

Although I'm sure Disney would do a spectacular job with this resort, do we really need another WDW-based resort, now that SSR construction is cranking up?

I mean, how many resorts can WDW really handle? What would WDW do with all those guests? I'd be concerned that too many DVC resorts in such close proximity might being a difficult system to manage, not to mention clogging the FastPass machines. ;)

Sure looks like it would be a beautiful resort, though.

Hi,

Sounds like something mom & I would like! But where are they going to put it??? I like the drawings!!!

I most certainly hope Eagle Pines is developed. In fact I'm so sure it will be, I set money aside each month for eventual purchase of DVC points there. I suspect we will see an announcement of EP before the end of 2005.

Yes, but an AKL villas would be preferable. Disney has a fifth park on the drawing boards, so if crowds pick up they will likely go forward with that project. So I suspect they could handle an Eagle Pines resort. Even without a fifth park Eagle Pines is more competition for off property resorts.

Yes. I've been waiting on this resort since they announced it before SSR. DH and I are golfers and on trips when it's just the two of us, we don't usually do the parks. So it would be more convenient to stay at OKW, SSR or EPR, with easy access to vehicle. I especially liked the Mizner architecture and I think it would be a great compliment to the existing resorts. I'm confident it will be built, maybe when SSR sells a certain percentage. They'll need something to sell to future DVCers and those who want add ons.

Dh and I actually talked about paying off first DVC purchase so that we could buy at EP. He's a golfer and would love it. and I would love the additional points! We'll keep working on paying off the loan and maybe they will build EP as planned!

The proposed 600-unit ownership development is slated to occupy a 61-acre site along the award-winning Disney’s Eagle Pines golf course at Walt Disney World Resort

This would be in the area along Bonnet Creek, north of Port Orleans and east of Fort Wilderness.

How close would this be to SSR?

Does anyone have a map of where EP would be located?

I would only be intrested if the units are the same size as OKW, that is the space. We have enough of those smaller rooms now. I was disappointed when SSR came out with the smaller rooms.
JMHO.

It would be on the Eagle Pines golf course which is part of the Bonnet Creek golf complex. It's located not far from Ft. Wilderness. If you take the bus from OKW (or PO) to MK, it passes the golf course.

I was very much looking foward to Eagle Pines. I know some people berated the Florida look of the place but....heck, that's why I go to Florida. I love anything that screams Florida...could be why I own at OKW and Vero. ;) I think SSR is very attractive but I don't think I'll rush to purchase there. EP has potential.

If built, you would get to EP resort this way:

From OKW take a left onto Community drive. At the light, turn right on Bonnet Creek Parkway. Go past Port Orleans all the way to a 'T' Intersection. Today at this intersection you would have to turn left or right. Left takes you past the entrance for the golf courses, then past the back entrance security gate, past the entrance to Fort Wilderness, and eventually to the MK resorts area. If instead you turned right you would wind up over by the WDW warehouse complex.

The 'T' Intersection will become a full through intersection. Instead of turning left or right, you would go straight through which would be directly into the entrance for Eagle Pines resort.]

From BWV you would turn right out of the parking lot, left at the light, go under the Epcot Center drive overpass, turn left at the light, follow Bonnet Creek Parkway to the 'T' intersection described above.

From BCV turn right out of the parking lot. Go under the boat causeway and past the BWV parking lot exit. From there follow the BWV directins.

I'm not sure about VWL because I think there's some one-way roads. It might be a round about trip. If you can get to Vista Blvd you would exit past the back entrance security gate, then it would be a left into the resort when you reached Bonnet Creek Parkway. If you can't get to Vista Blvd, then it would be around the MK parking area, then to Epcot Center drive, exit at Buena Vista Drive, left on Buena Vista Dr, then left on Bonnet Creek Parkway to the 'T' intersection.

From SSR take a left out of the parking lot onto Buena Vista Drive. Follow that to the 2nd left turn (Live Oak Lane, past the Kinder Care building, Left on Vista Blvd, then right on Bonnet Creek into the EP resort (when it's built...:p )

Unfortunately, I do not think we will ever see another DVC resort at WDW with villas the size of OKW. Disney saw that they could get more units per resort for more money, I doubt they will ever go back.
To the OP,
Eagle Pines looks nice but I wish they would build a DVC resort at the Poly. I have no idea where they could possibly put it, but that would be my choice.

I couldn't agree more. DH & I plan to tour SSR in October, but I won't be surprised if we come home and buy into an OKW resale instead. This will be our 3rd time to stay at OKW (on rental points) and the reason we like it is because it is a constant reminder you are on vacation in Florida!! I am not sure how excited we are going to be about SSR. I would be very interested in Eagle Pines, because of the Florida theme.

Yes, I would like to to see a DVC at EP.... But like many others here, I would rather see one at the Poly or AKL. ;)
