Do you wanna build a Snowman? {Sept 2014 PTR}

At least you've still managed to save AKL. I'd love to stay there!

Are you planning any of the eat to the beat concerts? You've probably already looked, but while you're at the Beach Club this is who's playing:-

Sept. 28-29 – Hanson
Sept. 30-Oct. 2 – Air Supply
Oct. 3-5 – STARSHIP starring Mickey Thomas

You're probably a bit too young to remember those bands, so they might be of no interest. :rotfl:

So cant wait - got to see Hanson do hmmm bop and Starship doing nothing going to stop me now

Wow, can't believe it's been so long since I posted, we've passed 100 days and are in double digits (95 days!) and I forgot to post!

However I have good reason (well actually a bad reason :( )

Last week my team were called into a meeting and placed in consultation, and told 50% of the team is being made redundant (insert huge sad face!) :( :( :(

I find out on the 4th of July whether I keep my job or not, or whether I'll be taking a pay cut or not. Even if I keep my job my salary will most likely be cut due to a restructure & lowered responsibilities.

The balance is due to be paid 3rd of August, so it's good that I'll know before I pay. But if I don't retain my job Our trip will most definitely be postponed until next year unless I can find a new job pretty quick. I can really use my redundancy pay to fund my Disney holiday when we'll be down to one income!

So yikes!! I'm keeping my fingers & toes crossed we'll still get our Disney holiday but even if I have to wait until next year when our financial situation is sorted if I am made redundant at least I'll have more time to plan!

I know what you must be feeling, I had the same when I went to my first Vegas trip. But I did the opposite and still went as thought I'd probably never get the chance again.

Well my fingers are crossed for you matey and hope to hear some good news soon

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you as well. A Disney holiday would be nice, but keeping your job would be even nicer!

Good luck. I hope it works out okay for you. x

SO, where to start!

I've managed to keep my job for now which is brilliant but We've had to make a bit of a 'grown' up decision and have decided to postpone the expensive beach club holiday to next September (25th!) 2015 and tie in a cruise on that holiday! Mainly because we've decide it's best to keep a nest egg of money just in case anything happens in the future! That way we can re save the money for next year but still keep a lump sum in an ISA (just in case!)

So that was all sorted this week, I easily cancelled the first holiday incurring a £50 amendment fee and rebooked 7 nights at BC GV with free dining! Which we might extend to 8 nights but just booked a lower amount of nights incase!

Then instead of the med cruise we had booked for August 2015 were going to swap it to either the 4 night Bahamas cruise on the 21st sept or the 7 night Caribbean cruise leaving on the 3rd October!

Now just to hang tight for Virgin to release their flight prices!

BUT in other news as we decide to save the huge amount of money I was going to go to NYC to see my friend who lives there over thanksgiving/Black Friday as it would cost considerably less money just me flying out. Then as I was checking Virgin for flights I notice Orlando wasn't that much more money the NYC £20 to be exact. One thing led to another my friend in NYC then had us booked into all star music for 7 nights with tickets & free QS dining for $1500! I booked my flight and that's that! A cheap last minute girls holiday, for the grand total of £850 which is a damn sight less money then what September would have cost! I won't be taking loads of spends either, as we have QS we'll make the most of that!

So there you go I now get to go this year just on a bargain budget trip and then I still get the chance to go to the F&W and cruise next year.

So it's good news all round and the OH is looking forward to 'a week off' with the boys ;)

We're going to Skype later to get our character meal dining booked in and that's about all the planning were doing! 130 days to go :D

So Glad its good news for you. and yes I agree with keeping a little back for the future.

All good things come to those who wait as they say ;-)

That's really good news.

I'm so glad you got to keep your job, the bargain Disney trip is just a bonus!

Isn't it!

It's almost like it worked our for the best! This way I get a bargain girls trip for a week this year, then we get a lovely 2 weeks if deluxe heaven next year. I feel like it was meant to be almost!

So another year to wait until F&W but I'm sure I can live vicariously through you guys if you both plan on doing TR's?!

Possibly. I feel like I should maybe give something back!

I did a food and wine one last year (link in my signature), but it's mainly just photos. Delicious, mouth watering photos though! :thumbsup2

I'm not sure how much we'll get to try at the food and wine this year because we've got loads of sit down restaurants booked, one pretty much each night. It's funny, we booked it to be there while the food and wine was on and now I don't think we'll even get to try much. I blame this forum and all the nice food pictures - it made me book things!

I loved your F&W from last year, those pictures literally made me drool! Xx
