Do you walk from BCV to MGM?

I love the walk. We usually do it at night after the show when the boat line is long. During the heat of the afternoon we will take boat. In the morning tt is nice to pick up some pastries from the boardwalk bakery and eat them along the way.

One day the boat seemed to be taking forever so I decided that my 12 year old dd, my 7 year old ds, and my 6 year old ds (in a stroller) and I would walk to MGM. First we started walking on the wrong side of the waterway (the Swan side). After I figured out that it was the wrong side, we went back to the bridge and crossed over to the Boardwalk side and walked over.

I'm sure that the people who saw us walk past the Swan bus stop thought we were nuts. When we crossed the bridge and passed the couple who were standing near it (for the 2nd time), I was more than a little embarrassed. Of course, I should've asked for directions!!

If not for the extra walking, it was a very pleasant walk, breezy, etc.

OK, maybe I would rethink things with the 7 year old walking extra. All in all, it was a nice walk. I'd definitely do it again.

You didn't need to turn around and backtrack. Actually you could have continued and been OK. The walkway on the Swan/Dolphin side goes up along the waterway, then curves up and joins a sidewalk on Buena Vista Dr. There you walk across the roadway bridge and follow the sidewalk back down toward the waterway. It joins the path from BWV right by the overpass.

We stay at BCV during Christmas break and walk. We've started at Epcot and not only beat the boat, we caught up with another boat that was ahead. It is a nice walk... little noise... quite relaxing.

Of course, during the summer we're all aboard the boat from Epcot to the Studios.

I didn't measure the MGM-BWV distance directly but did do the MGM-BWV and the full loop around the Epcot resorts lake, inclluding the distance from BWV to BCV, so based on those numbers the walk from MGM to BWV is right at 1-mile in length.

Bill, I'm a little confused. I think you mean its 1 mile from MGM to BCV. Yes? Your past measurements have always been very helpful, and I believe you have mentioned in the past that is was about .6 miles from BWV to MGM. MGM to BCV would then be farther, thus the 1 mile estimate?


I was there two weeks ago and the boat routes were interesting. From BWV you could take 1 of 2 boats(signs directed you to one side of the dock or the other). One went directly to Epcot, then back to BWV, while the other went to BCV, Swan, then MGM. From BCV we took a boat that went directly to BWV, then the boat continued on to Epcot.

A funny thing happened in that a Mom and her daughter were on the boat to Epcot with us from BWV. Well, they stayed on the boat, and went back to BWV, not getting off at Epcot(my family was just riding around and enjoying the sites). At BWV, I hear them talking about when they are going to get to Epcot. I inform them that we just left Epcot. Very funny.
