Do you use the toileteries in the room?

We always bring our own, but do take the items furnished by the hotel. We make up little care kits with these items and give them to the homeless.

I have stayed in some nice hotels and I can honestly say I have never liked a hotel shampoo. I am not that picky either. They seem to either make my hair too greasy or too dry. So, I bring my own. :thumbsup2

I brought a small bottle of shampoo from one of the Lowe's Universal hotels on a business trip recently and it actually broke my scalp out! I have never had that happen before. My head was itching so badly I thought I had head lice. It turns out it was just a terrible rash! Yeah, no more hotel shampoo for me. :rotfl:

For soap the kids and I can only use Ivory due to sensitive skin so I have to bring a bar of soap too.

My husband uses all the hotel supplies though. :goodvibes

We all use their soap. I use my own shampoo/conditioner and lotion. DH will use their shampoo but he has short hair.

We always end up getting extra toiletries. Maybe this is "wrong" of me, but I always pack up the extra toiletries we were given-not as souvenirs but to donate to care boxes for women's shelters or homeless.

I will pack my own shampoo, conditioner and body wash. I might bring soap as well. My choices are mostly due to allergies. The guys will probably use the stuff provided.

No - just bring some home as souveniers:cool1:

I brought a less expensive shoe organizer to hang in the closet.
Each person in our family had their own "row" for their shampoo, conditioner, saving stuff, toothpaste & toothbrush(in a cup), and hair stuff.
I got the idea from the TIPS board. :thumbsup2
Every item was organized, no messy bathroom counter, and everyone could find their stuff in the AM (or PM). ;)

We use the stuff there - I have really long hair (usually - I just cut a TON off, but it's still long by most standards) so we always ask for extra. Our last trip we stayed at the Poly and had one night when we got back and they didn't bring extra -- and of course that was the day my son had gotten a haircut, colored gel and pixie dust :rotfl: We just called mousekeeping and asked for some to be brought to us and they did right away...and the next day the regular housekeeper was a bit passive aggressive. I'm pretty sure we came home with a lifetime supply (seriously, about half of the cabinet under my bathroom sink is disney toiletries STILL and our trip was the last week of September!).

I haven't stayed anywhere with the combined shampoo/conditioner, so I can't speak to that. My hair has a tendency toward drying out and I haven't had any issues with the shampoo and conditioner there :)

I just returned from a little dept. store here in PA where I purchased -- H2O products. Moisturizer, Body Wash, Scrub, Eye cream and anti-wrinkle serum

We use the stuff provided in the resort, but we always have to use extra lotion and conditioner packed from home too.... I guess we have a tendency toward dry hair and dry skin so we need that extra moisturizing!

I haven't used any shampoo or conditioner in years, and I don't use lotion other than for the occasional foot rub - but I usually bring one or two bottles of shampoo home to sniff whenever I want to get in a Disney mood. ;)

As far as soap goes, usually I use goatmilk-oatmeal soap at home, but it never occured to me to pack it along for a trip. So yes, we do use the soap there!

I'd love to, but it's been ingrained in me since I was little that those things are a good way to keep the memory of the trip alive, and I can't bear to use them at disney. I don't think that I could use the hair products for more than a few days, as it doesn't seem to get my hair as clean as my aveda.

LOL! Me too. My Mom did this to me over many years of collecting those little bottles and soaps at various hotels. I actually keep some soaps and lotions in my Curio O' Disney.

We always bring our own shampoo and soap from home. The soap dries my skin out something awful and the shampoo makes my hair look (and feel) like straw....lol

I use everything but the shampoo and conditioner, only because I have hilights in my hair and use a special shampoo for them. I love the foot cream at the GF!!!

WOW what a great idea!!!! I am doing it this year for sure. Every trip I have like 3 or 4 bags with all the junk in it and it is such a pain......

Thanks
