Do you use Member Services to make non DVC ressies at a Disney resort?

I don't know if I asked the question right in my subject line but basically we are going to be at OKW from 11/27-12/04 but now my sister wants to go down on Thanksgiving Day. We don't want to use our points to stay at a DVC resort so we want to stay at a Value for cash.

Sidebar ~ I know that Thanksgiving will be very busy but my sis is a school teacher and she has those days off. We don't have kidlets so it will just be the three of us until Sunday when my other sis and husband joins us. Then School teacher sis will be going home on Tues. to get back to school by going down on Thanksgiving she'll almost get a week. ~ End of Sidebar

Anyway do you use member services or do you just call Central Ressies and secure a room that way?

Call CRO for non-DVC cash stays.

You may also be able to pay cash for an extra night at OKW. If available you should get a 25% discount off of the Rack Rate. These reservations are made through DVC (MS). Ask them to link the reservation to your points stay and you won't have to change rooms.

FYI -- Member Services can only make point reservations or DVC member cash discount reservations at DVC resorts. All other reservations go through "regular" Disney. MS also can't book airfare or rental cars if you aren't staying as a DVC member. For example, if I wanted to book CBR for a week on cash, I couldn't use the travel agent function of MS.

That's a change in policy. A few years back I was told they couldn't book air fare, etc. for a trip I was taking at another WDW resort. Do they actually do it or do they transfer you to WDW Travel?
