I've never really used an ap other than the My Disney Experience one. Do you have a must use ap that you use in your planning and in-park? What do you use it for? Do you find that it makes a huge difference in your trip? I hate the thought of being on my phone so much, but if it truly does help, I guess I'm on board.

You must mean "APP" (as in "application.")
"Ap" on these boards usually means "Annual Pass."

Those who use a WDW app would generally do so in
conjunction with their FP+ (and dining) reservations, as
well as general attraction "wait times."

I love the touring plans app "lines". I use the mdd for wait times but create touring plans on the "lines" app and "optimize" throughout the day to see what is the best attraction to go to next.

We did every attraction, several repeats and several shows at Disneyland in one day using it, refreshing after every ride. The only things we missed were Peter Pan and Star Tours and we chose to skip them.
