Do you unpack?

We usually stay in at least two resorts per trip, sometimes three. Many people say they don't resort hop because they don't like unpacking - packing. We NEVER unpack. We live completely out of the suitcase. I pack an outfit for each day in a zip lock bag. I leave my toiletries in a train case on the bathroom vanity. We're ready to go in no time at all.

I always unpack the moment I get there. That could be a reason for why we do not hop.

There's a poll on this topic.

We live out of the suitcase too. Since we only carry one big suitcase for everyone's clothes and I'm the one who packs and gets everyone ready in the morning, there's no reason to unpack.

When I get to a resort, I set the big suitcase and divide the area into quarters. Each person has one quarter of the suitcase for their stuff. I know where each item goes and which shirt belongs to which kid. I rarely ever use the drawers.

This upcoming trip I think I'll unpack because we're staying at POP for the entire trip, no split stay this time because of the free dining.

Yes. This past trip was our first trip with the whole family 4 of us. So I did unpack. And then I just filled the suitcases nightly with the dirty clothes.

I unpack and use the suitcase for the dirty items. I just feel more organized doing that. I never switch resorts though, except going from Universal to Disney.

I always unpack. Our suitcases would be a disaster by the end of the week. We always bring way too much stuff.

We are hopping for the first time this year. I doubt that we will totally unpack for our first two nights, but as soon as we get to VWL we will unpack everything for sure.

I'm an un-packer. I like to have things in their place and the suitcases stowed away. Part of my vacation is coming into a neat, tidy room each night....something that certainly doesn't happen at home!

We never resort hop, but we also never unpack. Yeah, we pull all of the toiletries out and throw them all over the sink area, but beyond that we don't unpack. We just start trash bags full of dirty clothes and that's about it.

We always unpack even though we usually split our stays now. I would not enjoy living out of a suitcase.

I admit to enjoying these threads. I think all of us are planners or we wouldn't be here so often ;) but it is interesting to me how differently people handle this.

We have always in the past unpacked and put things in the drawers/etc. This time for SOME reason I didn't feel like unpacking. We used a duffle bag (that had been packed also) for our dirty clothes... which I washed, put the clothes in the suitcase and used the duffle bag for souvenirs we'd bought while there. LOL
I really can't say why I didn't feel like unpacking- especially since we were there for 10 nights... just didn't feel like it and you know- it didn't make any difference that I could tell. Saved a tiny bit of time I guess. LOL (and saved a lot of drawer slamming also... because my kids WOULD be slamming those drawers everytime they shut them if I'd put their clothes in the dressers. I don't know why... they shut easier than ours at home maybe? LOL)

I un-pack. If I stay elsewhere, like another place other than Disney, I do NOT un-pack.

We use 3 resorts per trip and always unpack this way we can do the laundry and re pack before changing resorts with free laundry services at DVC resorts it makes it very easy.

yup i do, or else my OCD will kick in and drive me crazy if everything is not put away orderly and neat. :rotfl2:

First thing I do when I get into the room is unpack everything. I just feel much more settled that way (and we don't resort-hop)

Does unpacking halfway count?? ;) I usually just hang up my shirts and leave the rest in my suitcase. I use a foldup hamper for my dirty clothes and try to always wash clothes at least once while I'm away. :flower:

:wave2: I always unpack- I hate to live out of a suitcase. First thing I do is hang up all clothes. This is probably why we do no resort hop!

Always unpack, it's the first thing I do regardless of length of stay. Since we travel a lot, I bought a wardrober which folds small but opens huge. It's like a travelling closet everything gets packed on hangers which clip on hooks, so all you have to do is hang everyhthing up....they don't wrinkle either.
