Do you unpack?

::yes:: I always unpack, but if doing a split stay at DVC Villa I pack so we don't have to unpack everything.

We unpack as soon as we get in the room. I have all my shirts and blouses already on hangers in my suitcase. I pull them out and hang them right up in the closet. All of DD's outfits are on little hangers to do the same. Everything else gets either put into drawers or on the bathroom vanity. I even save the top drawer of the armoir for all the junk I accumulate during the trip like maps, receipts, ect.

I unpack first thing straight away. I am anal about it.

Another unpacker! It's the first thing we (I) do when we get into the room! I too, stick a bunch of stuff that we collect through the week in one of the drawers, and dirty clothes go into the suitcase that is open in the "closet" floor!

We always unpack - well I always unpack while DH lays on the bed and watches TV - LOL. We do like to resort hop once during a say of at least 8 days (less days and we don't hop - actually we've never stayed less days, but we wouldn't hop then if we did). I pack the suitcases accordingly. The carry on bag has all the toiletries, makeup, and hair stuff. This gets unpacked at each of the resorts (and obviously re-packed). Then I pack two meduim suitcases to check, one for the first resort and one for the second. Swimsuits and pjs go in the outside pockets of either suitcase and are unpacked at each resort. Sounds anal I know, but it works

I didn't use to unpack, but now I do. I feel more organized, plus I don't have to stop my makeup halfway through to find hubby a pair of clean socks! If we are hopping, I will pack one suitcase with X-day's worth of clothes and unpack only it. I tend to store the suitcases zipped inside each other and bring a collapsible hamper. When it gets full, I'll pack the smallest bag and then re-zip it into the larger one. Works great for us.

Nope! I leave almost everything in my suitcase, so I don't have to worry about leaving anything when I leave. The only thing I take out of the suitcase is my toiletry bag which I hang in the closet and a mesh laundry bag that I also hang in the closet for dirty clothes. I stay up late the night before I come home washing clothes and folding them back into their zip lock bags (or the night before changing resorts), because I can't stand to come home and have to wash clothes. I pack everything into zip lock bags and just take out a bag of clothes every morning, put them on, then place them in the dirty clothes bag inside the closet at night when I take them off. My suitcase stays on the suitcase rack inside the closet. The only thing on the vanity is a cup with toothbrushes in it. Funny thing is though, that once I get home the very first thing I have to do is unpack that suitcase and put things away, no matter how tired I am.

I always unpack. I put my dd's outfits in ziplock bags. Each morning they can grab one and get dressed. I fold my dh's outfits together since he cannot coordinate outfits. He picks up the folded shirt and inside is the shorts. (He's on his own for his underwear and socks.)

I use the empty luggage for dirty clothes. Then at the end of the trip I don't have as much repacking.

We don't resort hop.

I do resort hop and unpack to a degree. Most stays I am at a resort for 4 or 5 nights then I'll change to another resort for 2 to 3 nights. As such I generally pack for a 5 day trip and if I am staying for 4 nights at one place I will take out most of my clothes to cover those 4 days. On night 3 I generally do the wash and go swimming and then repack those items for the move in another day or two. As I am an adult I find it doesn't take me more than 10 minutes to repack anything. I also only take out absolutely what is needed from my toiletry bag such as conditioner, hair spray, deodorant, comb, toothbrush/paste and sunscreen. As such it takes all of a minute to put these things back in a bag.

As soon as we get to the room we unpack and set it up. We don't resort hop, and we usually only stay for two nights.

We always unpack. I hate wrinkled clothing! I start unpacking as soon as we arrive! I have to have everything put away before we leave for the park du jour!

I unpack everything as soon as I get to the resort, I have this thing that I think the shirts and such will get even more wrinkled the longer I leave them in there, and Im not one for ironing!

I use the empty suitcase for dirty clothes.

I must unpack as well, as soon as I get there. Then go to the parks or DTD or have a swim. I also do laundry every day - it keeps from having to bring extra suit cases of stuff. (We get a one bedroom DVC unit and it has a wash/dryer in the condo).

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who rushes to unpack and then go.

We also rarely every resort hop.

Wow, I had no idea so many people unpack! I never unpack. Dh does, but not me (and I am in charge of dd's suitcase, so she doesn't either, lol). I find that if I pack my suitcases in an orderly fashion, there is no need to unpack--the suitcases function just like drawers. Shirts in one side, shorts in another, underwear and socks in a pocket. Shoes and toiletries come out of course, but they have their own suitcase anyway. (the whole family puts shoes, toiletries, and other bulky items like coats if needed into one large suitcase. Then we each have another suitcase for the rest of our clothes. One large collapsable duffel goes down with a pillow in it that we throw away there (if need be) and bring it home full of stuffed animals that dd has to have, lol. Dirty laundry goes into a bag and all dirty laundry comes home in one empty suitcase so it's not in with any leftover clean stuff. We bring a lot of suitcases, but we are very organized about it.

I would kill for a washer and dryer in my room, but I am too in love with the Polynesian to go to a DVC resort. Maybe some day when dd is older. :) I do laundry if we stay over 7 days, which we usually do. It sucks though, and wastes my time! The Poly needs washers and dryers on each floor, or at least, in each building. That would be nice.

I have to unpack. Its part of the whole relaxing, really on vacation thing. Once I get in the room, unpack, then I'm all "moved in" and I'm on vacation! This way, I can pretend I don't have to leave. And, it keeps me from making my usual horrible mess of my suitcase. :earboy2:

It all depends on how I feel; but my friend always unpacks and says her 'dirty clothes' (at the end of the trip) take up too much space and she ends up tossing them in the trash! I know, she's so *'goofy** :rotfl:

I always unpack everything as soon as we get in the room. ::MickeyMo

We unpack the first night. It is a lot easier then living out of the suitcase. We put the dirty clothes back in the suitcase each night. It makes packing to go home easier. :cool1:
