I would not call it training, but I do walk 3-4 miles every day. Once I started doing that, I found my Disneyland days to be a little easier than before I was regularly walking.
I would guess so you don't get dehydrated. More of an issue in FL but for someone that drinks more affiliated beverages than non, it's a good idea to cut back when traveling anywhere hot or at least drink enough water to counter the caffine.
We used to train our kids before trips when they transitioned from strollers to walking the parks. We would go on walks and then gradually extend the walks so they got more used to being on their feet that much. It really helped them. We of course told them if they got tired they had to tell us and we would take a break. They were not the best at telling us when they got tired. Lol. So we would usually take a break every 2 hours or so.
Unless you’re completely disabled, walking is good for you and going on short walks every day will accustom your body.
God bless my mom, she’s a wreck - double knee replacement, fall risk, limited mobility, etc. she literally refuses to walk and has developed a condition where her body retains water, causing her to take water pills all day and wrap her legs every night. Her docs say a good hour of walking would likely negate the need for the water pills and wraps and I’ve offered to get her a pass to DL… but no.

I would say for me it's more of an issue in California - the air is so much dryer! I am from a more humid climate, so even though FL is hotter, whenever I go out west I get so dehydrated. I'm sure it depends on what you are used to. Cutting caffeine will definitely help with hydration either way though.

My nose and skin hate the dry. It just sucks all the moisture out but I've never felt dehydrated. I'm also quite hydrated all the time and still have dry skin so I've never bought into the hydrate for your skin thing.
My last dlr trip it was oddly humid but that was also great for me.
It will be interesting to see how it goes this time. I stopped breastfeeding my youngest about a month before I went to Disneyland last time, then gained like 10+ lbs/year for like 3 years. I've been trying to increase my movement, and eat healthier. The extra weight and years really do make it harder.
The main thing I need to do is break in my new sneakers. I was still wearing chuck taylors for my last Disneyland trip, but now I need more arch support. I have one good pair of sneakers, but want a second pair for swapping out. I also need to figure out the sandals situation. It may be time for vionics.
The caffeine thing just isn't practical right now. I might be able to wean myself off over the summer, when I'm not getting up at 6am every day to get kids out the door. I do need to increase my water intake again. I'll find a water bottle I like for a little while, then struggle with keeping it around.
It shouldn't be too bad with just one kid though. My physical fatigue symptoms are exacerbated by arguing with my 2 youngest kids....especially the youngest. Even just taking my kids to see a movie today was exhausting, because he started acting out about an hour in.
