Do you tip your dog groomer?

It depends on the place for me. I've taken my dog to a few different groomers. Most recently, I've been taking him to a lady that does grooming part time on the side. She's the only one and it's her own business, so I don't tip her. When I've taken him to companies that have several employees and groomers on staff, I do tip there.

Is your groomer Mary on Saunders Settlement?

I tip 20%. I have a standard poodle. She weighs about 48 lbs. She goes to the groomers every 6 weeks. I give her, her bath and blow dry her at home to save the amount of time she's at the groomer's. Gracie has been going to the same groomer since she was 14 weeks old (she is 4 years old now). Because she is already bathed and combed out when I take her to the groomers, she only charges me $45, which for the amount of work she does, is a bargain!

I understand not wanting to tip the owner of the business. But not wanting to tip because you feel that it's already too expensive - do you not tip at an expensive restaurant because you feel that you were charged enough already?

haha no but close! I go to one on Pine Ave in NF. Do you use Mary?

No, she is my brother in laws mother.

I just went to a new place on Oliver St. in NT. The place itself is not the best looking place, but she did a great job and only charged me $20, I gave her $30.

Yes - I take my dog in every 6 weeks for a full grooming (shampoo, blowdry and cut, etc.)

My person charges $85 and I tip 20% on top of that. She's worth every penny - she's GREAT with my dog and always fits me in if I call last minute for a Saturday.

I have 2 shelties and always tip my groomer 20%. Also, at Christmas, I give an extra tip plus a gift. She is awesome with them and I tend to equate her to my hairdresser.

I take my dog to the same woman at PetSmart every time and tip her 20%. She takes good care of my baby. I know she appreciates it.

WOW... I am in the wrong business!! I had no idea people paid so much for dog grooming. My little chihuahua gets a bath, and gets her nails trimmed/filed and painted every few weeks at a big feed store with a little pet salon in it. Comes out all sweet-smelling and sporting a seasonal bandana and pink nails for $15. And they're so nice over there. I think I might tip *and* hug them next time after seeing some of these other prices!!

Pink nails.... Love it!! :goodvibes

My dog is 75lbs and I was charged $20 for a bath, nail trimming and gland cleaning, I think that is very cheap.

ETA: He also sported a bandana when he came out.

Pink nails.... Love it!! :goodvibes

She's definitely the little girl I never had, lol... She goes back for grooming tomorrow, actually, but this time she'll be getting red nails to go with her red Minnie sweater. :goodvibes
