Do you tip for valet parking?

Just wondering what others do about valet parking at the deluxe resorts. We're staying at the GF, and plan to use valet parking. There is a daily charge for parking, but do people also tip the CM who brings your car each time? If so, how much?

Yes you should tip when they bring you the car. I tip several dollars.

Yes, we usually tip $3-$5.

I usually tip the valet desk at the start of the trip and then at the end. I normally come and go around the same time each day so I do notice a regular driver and tip that person well according to the service he provided, ie.. heat vehicle, or turn on AC, wipe windows if foggy, assist in opening doors and such.

Yes. The amount is up to you, but NONE of that Valet fee goes to the Valets; it goes directly to Disney. While they do get paid, they're providing a service of convenience to the Guest, making the Guest's stay more enjoyable (trek across two parking lots and a busy street to get in a hot car, vs. wait in a shaded, possibly misted area for someone to drive your now-cooled and comfortable car to within feet of where you're waiting). Tip.

Parking valets are paid hourly I believe and minimum at that. We always give $3 on the way in and $3 on the way out.

That's what I usually do, depending on how quick the service is. If they are not busy, just standing around, and I'm standing there waiting for them to take the car, I'll give $1 or nothing.

Thanks so much for the guidance! I know that there is usually several people around the bell desk outside a resort, often one is in charge and gets your car number from you, then one runs to get the car, and possibly another opens the doors, etc...so it could get costly if everyone gets a tip. So, if I just give $3 to the one who brings or takes the car, do they split it with the others?
