Do you tip for take out?

Nope....there was no "service" involved....just cooking, and the cook is paid decent wages. In Canada, anyway...

No but I have tipped before at chinese because we ordered sodas which the girl made them but I don't tip anywhere else for takeout unless its the pizza delivery person.

Yes I do, somebody had to pull the order together, make sure everything was correct and add all the silverware, condiments, etc. This is ususally a bartender or server that is pulled away from other customers to handle it. Some places have a dedicated "take out" server but I guarantee you in the US they aren't making minimum wage.

Not usually. I have if I've received stellar service, but that's only been a couple of times.

I will usually tip a dollar or two if the person helping me was especially nice, friendly, or helpful.

Theoretically, you should tip a small amount, if the person who put together your order is a tipped employee, taken away from other duties to package your meal.

No, I generally do not. If it's curbside and someone brings it to my car, I do.

If there is a tip jar I will usually put something in- but I do not add anything to my CC.

It depends. If there is a dedicated "take-out" person tha took the order and got everythign together, I'll throw a buck or two.

For merely picking up an item to go, no, I do not.

For the most part, no. The person who puts together the orders at my local Sushi place is the hostess, who doesn't work for tips. One time, though, in the middle of a snowstorm, one of the waitresses made me a nice hot cup of green tea while I waited for my order. I definitely made sure to add a few extra bucks for her.

Generally no. If they bring it to my car, yes.
