a $250 a day budget is reasonable for a family of 5 at WDW? This is our first family trip and we are uncertain of how much we should plan on spending each day. We want to come up with a budget and stick to it. We will already have our hopper passes so that's not included in the $250. Our kids are still young DD7, DS5, and DD1 and they will be recieving disney dollars for Xmas and birthdays to buy their own souveniers(sorry i can't spell that word). Thanks for your help.

Yes!

My sister's family of five went to WDW with us last year. They only spent about $1,300 for the 8 day trip for the five of them. I think it was actually a little less than that, but I'm not 100% positive. Her children split kids meals as they were large meals and one couldn't finish them alone. They did a couple of character meals and bought a few souveniors. We packed breakfast items though, so we didn't eat out in the morning everyday (cereal, donuts, granola, etc.). You won't have to pay for your 1 year old at the buffets, so if you plan on doing any character meals, you won't have that expense.

That sounds about right. We're a family of 5 this time too. We figure 250-300 a day. We did this last time too. Some days we spent that much and some days less. Depends on where you eat, souvenirs etc.

Are you eating every meal out? We eat b'fast in (poptarts, muffins, etc) because no one eats a big b'fast. Then we spend about $40 on lunch and then dinner. We have a fam of 5; 2 adults, 3 kids: 9yo, 6yo, 3yo
We take in snacks and drinks so we aren't spending $2.50 a pop and sometimes even take in sandwiches for lunch if we are doing a very budgeted trip.

LMC, we are doing the same. We are eating one big breakfast at anmimal kingdom the last day we are there. But to your question
mrsschlep i think that is plenty of money. Go to http://www.allearsnet.com/ and look at the menu's so you can budget the food take. With your children so young they can all probalby share off the same dish. Good luck. Let us know how, how you make out.

Thank you for your replies. We will be doing a couple character b-fasts because we are celebrating 2 of my kids b-days the week we are going. But other then that we will be bringing snacks and water bottles and eating some breakfasts and pb+j's in the room during the week to save a little $. So i think that we will have plenty with a 250 budget. Thanks again!

Have a Disney Day!!:earsboy: :earsgirl: princess: pirate: :cutie:
