Marathon Weekend 2027

Does private browsing still count as a separate queue?
It should. As far as I can tell, the queue system assigns an ID per session so one session for private and one session in the main browser.

Putting this behind a spoiler as I’m sure it’s a bit controversial and I have no idea if it even works. Most browsers let you easily open multiple sessions and, building on what I said above, that should allow multiple queue IDs.

You can search the internet for the exact steps if you want to give it a try. I’m certainly going to try tomorrow.

Once again glad that I have secured by bib via charity so I don't have to worry about registration. With weather moving through east coast I've had to change flights meaning I would have been limited to my phone in the airport tomorrow. Fortunately/unfortunately, my DD decided she cannot try for next year again, so I no longer have to worry about trying to get something for her.

Very interesting spoiler. There will always be ways to game the system, limited by the safeguards rD enacts, our tech abilities, and our sense of fair play.

Would someone mind creating a "Registration Guidline" for newbies and just as a refresher for the rest of us? I've taken a couple years off, and this year my son will be 18 and he wants to run the Dopey (I'm planning on the 5K and the half), and I've never registered multiple people. We'll both be free with three, possibly four devices between us, but I have no idea what our plan of attack should be.

If someone could make a list of suggestions and tips I think it would be helpful for a lot of us.

@DopeyBadger put together an excellent post on this a while back. Some of the info on queue ID/queue sharing may be outdated now but a lot of it is still good info.

I was just looking for this to share but couldn’t find it since it’s not titled anything about “registration”. I wonder if we could get the mods to pin that post.

Read the post and ask here if you still have questions.

I can grab screenshots tomorrow (if I get through) and post an updated thread that we can ask to be pinned, just to save DopeyBadger the trouble. I'd say 90% of that information is still accurate, but obviously the queue ID sharing is not, and the screenshots are outdated.

Between my DD and I we will have over 30 distinct browsers going; more than double what we usually have.

Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox; all in both regular and private/incognito modes across 5 or 6 different devices.

Stupid, unfair, overkill? I hope so. This is what rD incents us to do. With no queue sharing there is little or no ethical reason not to have more browsers going. Each one is sort of a lottery ticket

There's something poetic (or ironic) about having to delete a duplicate post immediately after discussing having 30 simultaneous browsers running for registration...

A few of us have a working theory that may allow us a limited amount of sharing, but we'll need to test it out live. Fingers crossed it works, but hoping even more that we don't need it!
The irony of me being one who knows how to share a queue ID… but historically being one who NEEDS a shared queue ID… and also never having tested the method personally or how to do it on different browsers… AND feeling unsure of my ability to explain something I’ve never actually done to others… is going to make this really interesting!

Wishing everyone the best luck tomorrow! I hope everyone gets what they are looking for!! DH agreed that trying to get into the half would be fine so I am going to see what the universe presents tomorrow. ✨🔮 If I manage to secure a decent link and find someway to help and you need it, I'll do my very best (despite the fact that I am a serious tech 🦕) so just reach out. 💜

Secured Dopey for myself via charity bib but will be ready at 9:45 to get my friend in for the marathon. They have a work trip and will be 40,000 feet in the air when registration opens. Feeling a little pressure to get in tomorrow when its someone else.
We were going to be in a similar situation for Princess registration... flight departing at 10:20am that day! I actually rearranged our trip just so that I wouldn't have to worry about the responsibility to get me registered all being on someone else 😬 Hopefully I actually get in after all that 😅

I’ll just say that I’ve tried ALL the things: multiple browsers, private/Incognito modes, multiple devices, some on cellular some on WiFi… nothing has made any bit of difference in recent years. Only once in recent times have I ever gotten through a queue at all on my own, without help from a shared queue. IDK if that’s the Universe telling me loudly to stop forking over money to rD or what, but I’ll be darned if I let it stop me from trying again lol!

So I have tried these all as well and it seems like the attempts I have made where it was less devices in use, that's worked. In fact during princess last year, I only had 3 or 4 browsers (on a laptop) and one went through immediately while most of the RunDisney world was stuck in the weird limbo state (to my utter shock, btw, I should have played the lottery that day... 🤣 ). So I hear you, I hope you get in with ease tomorrow!

I talked things through with my friend last night and I think that I have a plan for tomorrow. My goals are:

1) My 10K bib
2) My friend and my 5K bibs
3) And then, if it is still available, my half marathon bib. I'm wavering on this because the price total for 3 races for me is pretty steep at $500+. But I'm going to let the registration gods help me decide.

All of this being said, I'm both nervous about tomorrow without the community Queue ID safety net and very much in the "what will be, will be" mode. I'm already committed to raising a boatload of money for my Chicago bib so charity bibs for MW just aren't going to happen therefore I need to come at it from a place of acceptance.

That being said, I expect a high intensity, adrenaline fueled registration event tomorrow.

Late to the party, but SAFD:

Live Action:
1. Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl
2. Haunted Mansion (the newest one)
3. Cruella

(But if we get to include Touchstone and Hollywood Pictures, then Pretty Woman, Father of the Bride, and Pirates of the Caribbean)

Acquired IP:
1. Empire Strikes Back
2. Rogue One
3. Revenge of the Sith
