...those ADR availabilities closer to the date?

I want Yak & Yeti for 6/21 at 1:30 for 7 people. The best I can get for ANY date that week for 7 people is 3:00. I can split us up 5/2 and get any time I want, but not for 7. What do you think?

We went in Oct and I tried to get a couple of last minute ADRs for Kona and Sci-Fi. I checked every morning for weeks. One finally came open for Sci-Fi about 10 days out, but never did for Kona. I don't think they hold ADRs back. You just have to get lucky and snag one if they have a cancellation.

I don't believe that they hold ADR's back.
I do think ADR's become available as people cancel
Good Luck

What you require is a table for eight for your size group. Most restaurants have very few tables with that capacity.

For a large group you basically need a reservation either right at opening, or very close to closing, which is when they can possibly move tables together; you generally cannot get a large group reservation in the middle of prime dining times.

I agree and I hope one comes available for Tusker House for 5/10 between 8-9am. Crossing my fingers that one does come available.

I think what you're saying is probably true, but I've had absolutely no trouble at any other restaurant, even at this point. :(

No I don't think they hold ADRs back. I would keep checking since people do cancel but with a large party it might be harder to hope for those cancellations.

I don't think any of the table service restaurants hold back any ADR time slots. However I do know if your trying to get an ADR for a restaurant at the resort you are staying that and are told by a WDW Dining Cast Member it's sold out, well usually the Lobby Concierge Cast Member or Club Level Cast Members if that's the type of accomodations you have can get you in. So while it might sound like that's holding back tables they are still different when comparing them.

Yak & Yeti has told me that they only allow about half of their tables to be booked for ADR's and the rest available for walk-ups. They can do this because they are not owned by Disney. This was awhile ago tho (6months - a year?)... but you should be able to walk up... especially if you go at an off-time

I tried to make reservations for Le Cellier at the 180 day mark for our July trip and was unsuccessful for a 15 day vacation. Just recently, this week, I figured I would check again and there was availability for most days of my vacation. Glad I double checked. So my advice is check in now and again and see what happens.

At the 45 day out mark, packages have to be paid for, so many get canceled, along with tons of ADRs. That is a great time to try to get a place you couldn't, or upgrade to a better time. Plus, the @starstars that book multiple places start to choose and cancel (sometimes) the places they won't be going.

I think this sounds like a good tip. I wish there was a program to do this for me!

we had to do two seperate ones for Sci Fi.. 14 at one table 8 at the other. All the rest of our ADR's the 22 or 18 people were no issue even at peak times!
