Do you think they’ll ever bring back some version of the DL and WDW AP?

I know this is an odd question for the DVC group, but it plays a role in my thoughts with respect to the resorts I consider. I live in Maryland, but I have a ton of family within 30 minutes of DL.

Right now, we have our WDW AP (which I know is currently a sore subject for a lot of people). I feel like we are heavily invested in WDW, however, I would possibly consider a small contract at the new DLT if I could ever get a multi park AP. If that never comes back, I’ll probably just skip DLT and go for a day or two once a year when visiting family.

I never thought that the Premier AP was worth it unless you use all the features, it was over $2,000. It was a combination of the top AP from each park. One time when I had trips to each park in a year, two years in a row, probably about 10 years ago, it was better to have separate AP's because they would each have their own expiration. So if I did Spring at DL and Fall at WDW, the combined AP would expire in the Spring, it wouldn't cover the Fall at WDW the second year. With separate AP's, it did.

Yeah, we were also thinking about picking up one of the lower end DL magic key passes (I think the lowest is the Enchant Key). We are ok with blackout dates because, if we are in California, it’s because we’ve taken the entire week off.

three trips to the park and it’s almost paid for. I did see they have a SoCal pass for $399. For DVC, the offer a whopping $20 off most of the magic keys. We’ll see. That’s my thing with DLT and DL passes - it’s going to cost a fortune to manage two resorts and two park passes. At least with WDW, I already have the AP paid for.

I came to the same conclusion as you did. Also, I think there was a little bit of a price break when buying them separately because there was a price break on the WDW DVC AP--though this goes back quite a few years so maybe not so anymore.
(Technically there was a DVC price break for the DL AP, too, but IIRC that was only $20.00). But, no DVC discount for the Premier.

That’s one of the hardest things for me to swallow about DLT. I’m going to have to pay for the parks a second time. With the WDW AP (and hopefully they come back soon), no matter where I stay on property I’ve got my park passes covered.

Also, I feel like I’d run out of Disney things to do after 3-4 days. Sure - I’d like to go to the beach or explore SoCal, but staying at DVC accommodations is expensive to be doing that.

This is a tricky one because I LOVE DL.

I'm not sure what the break even point is now a days (if they were actually selling them). One technique would be stay 5-6 nights and then come back 50 weeks later and stay another 5-6 nights using the same pass.
DL also has several seasons where there are special events that makes it fun to visit during various times of the year. (Not sure how far away you are).
