Do You Think There Will Be New Discounts

The current codes are good for arrivals through 4/9 and must be booked by 1/27.

So, do you think that there will be new codes out the following weekend (say Sunday, February 2nd?) and do you think that the discounts will apply arround the Easter Holiday?

(We arrive at the Polynesian on 4/16 and are paying a bundle, even with the DC discount. So, while I am not hopeful for a nice code, I can dream!)

My guess is that new codes probably will come out after the next bath expire, but they won't be valid until after 4/27. Disney picked 4/9 for a reason, since the two weeks around Easter are among the most busy and they usually run at full occupancy, hence no reason for a code for Easter week. Sorry, if I'm a downer, but I wouldn't count on a code for the Easter break.

Lori, you are a downer...LOL! (can't say I don't agree with you though - about discounts at Easter, I mean)

C'mon, last month was the first time code discounts ran right up until a Christmas Day arrival and this year there are discounts during Peak Season including President's Week. War is looming and the economy is weak (now that's a downer!). Orlando hoteliers, including Disney, have commented that fewer people are booking in advance and foreign visitor numbers have tanked. Occupancy rates overall are down. So, just maybe there might be new codes for Easter to prime the pump.

I'm still hoping (just not betting!)

Lori.....

I agree with Poly Pal!:)
Even though I know you are right about the Easter break rates not usually discounted!:(
DC discounts are available. AAA discounts are blacked out til the 24th (at least that was what I was told by CRO).
But with the economy and Easter being so late.....just maybe.....we can wish can't we:p :p

Anyway, I am still hoping to see the discounts pop up soon because we will be there from April 23 - 30. So half of our trip is in "regular" season. The DC rate I have right now for April 27 - 30 is the same "discounted" code rate that was available for March since March is "peak".
And I got a great deal on a flight ......so.....even if nothing changes.....It still works out a little cheaper for us to go in April than in March. And DD will only miss 2 days of school instead of 5.

But....still hoping for discounts!!!!

In last Sundays Philadelphia Inquirer newpaper, 1/12/03, there was a 8 page travel section about WDW and Disney Cruise lines. On one of the pages there is an ad that say's: "Four Disney Parks and a Resort Room too", $389 per adult, $179 per child (3-9) with Disney's Dream Maker Package. You can stay in the middle of the magic and play in all four Disney Theme Parks for one great rate!
Rates are based on adult double occupancy for a three night stay at a Disney VALUE Resort and are valid most nights from 4/27/03 to 8/23/03. The number of packages at these rates are limited.

The dates were the first I have seen past 4/9/03, as cindyfan stated above with 4/27/03 being the start of a new room discount. The ad did not state which resorts were included, just the word "Value" was used.

RobinLyn:D

RobinLyn, that doesn't sound like much of a deal. Three nights at a Value Resort for $778 (minimum) and 2 adult 4 day UMPs. Sounds like rack rates to me.

Thanks for the information though about the dates going beyond 4/9!

Yea, that ad ran in most newspapers around Ohio too.
It is just for the typical "rack rate package". No discount involved there!
Those dates are the "regular" season dates for value and moderate. That is why it listed the start date of 4/27.
I remember past years that this is usually the time WDW puts out a couple page ad because people are starting planning for summer vacations.

So....that ad really meant nothing in regards to any discounts that may be popping up.

they are rack rates. I called on that because I'm booked for May 9- May 18. CRO told me those are rack rates, not discounted at all. They just put a bunch of stuff together in a package.

She said that when AP rates came out I could apply them to the above package.

I'm counting on AP discounts for our upcoming April trip. Surely they'll be out soon.
