Do you think there is anyway I will find a deal for a deluxe resort for $220 or less?

I really want to stay at a deluxe resort next summer when I go to disney, but unfortunately I can not afford them at the price there at. I am hoping, that I can find deals, do you think there is any chance, I can get them for $220 or less, and if not do you think there is a chance I can get a free dining plan (not CS ddp, regular ddp) offer with the normal price?

Here are the deluxe resorts ranked in order I would like to stay at, please tell me on each one:

1. polynesian resort
2. fort wilderness lodge
3. animal kingdom lodge
4. contemporary resort
5. grand floridian
6. beach club resort
7. yacht club resort
8. boardwalk resort

I asked this because I read on another thread that someone got grand floridian for $145 per night around august.

I don't think the dining plan is ever offered for free during the summer except for maybe late August. I also call bs on the GF for $145 a night, since rooms are around $600 a night at that time of year(that would be a 75% discount). The only way you could possibly stay deluxe at less than $220 a night is to rent DVC points. The cheapest deluxe is Animal Kingdom Lodge which is still going to cost more than $300 per night during the summer. Even if you got a discount, it wouldn't be that good. Renting points is the only possible way. If you want to look into that I suggest checking out DVCRequest, they offer points for rent for $14/point.

The only time I have seen a rate anywhere close to that for GF has been for a convention.

Good luck! That sounds awfully low for summer season for deluxe resorts, next year with prices presumably higher than this year.

You can try renting points from a DVC member. Probably your best best if wanting a deluxe resort.

Not trying to start a debate here, but he GF must have actually been offered for cheaper (maybe because of construction?). My friend has the deal and I have seen the paperwork. It is actually a little more than $145 with tax though. I know she did say that YC was a little more.
I don't know. I got a quote for both and GF was higher. It wasn't broken down though so I don't know the exact cost of the room.

Total: Yacht Club Resort Standard Room-$3642.90
Grand Floridian Resort Standard Room-$4317.90

ETA
There is also a big discount on tickets.

I'm speaking from 3rd person on this one, I don't do travel agencies. I didn't believe it either...just going by what I saw. :flower3:

Regardless, that deal is for this summer and I think OP is thinking of next summer and therefore, it might not even be relevant to OP question. :upsidedow

I am new to WDW planning but while doing so cheapest deluxe option (for us going this August) was the 30% off AKL SV rooms which come out to about $202 a night. WL only gets 20% discount. Free dining not offered until Sept. Maybe the deal will be similar for next summer :confused3

Your best chance of getting a deluxe resort would be if you can get a room discount at WL or AKL. We have paid less than $220 for a WL Woods view room with discounts in Feb and Dec 2013. I'm not sure what August prices are like.

You can also look into the DVC's. You can get some bargains by renting points.

I will tell you what I do and it really helps us as we don't have lots of money. I booked our resort last August (you can book room as soon as the price list comes out), and all you have to pay is $200.00. You don't have to pay off until 45 days before your arrival date to Disney, so I make payments every month and by the date the remaining balance is due, I usually have very little to pay. Just like a layaway plan!!

I think the cheapest way to stay at a Deluxe is by renting points. Not sure how many people you're traveling with but we are staying in a 2 bedroom at AKV, there are 7 of us. It was a huge savings by renting points vs paying directly through Disney. The only draw back is you can't get free dining if renting points:/ But we have a full kitchen so we will be ordering groceries from Garden Grocer. We are very happy renting points and can't wait to stay at AKV:goodvibes

I know you did not have Swan and Dolphin on your list, but they are deluxe and offer some really great deals. They have deeply discounted rates for teachers and military personnel. If you use the Starwood American Express, you can book these two resorts on points. They also have a 6th night free deal. We haven't paid for lodging on our last two Disney trips.

The location is amazing and you can see Illuminations from some of the rooms. And the pool area, wow!

I was afraid these would not be "Disney" enough for me, but the Swan (I'm sure the Dolphin, too) is so luxurious and watching fireworks from the room is pretty darn magical.

The only time that I've seen rates that low for deluxes have been when I was booking a convention rate. The top three resorts on your list are not convention hotels, so you are less likely to see them discounted to that level.

It's killing me to pass it up, but we could book the CR for $155/night for a meeting this fall. Unfortunately, the meeting is being held at a time that we aren't free to attend. But I have stayed at the YC and GF on similar convention rates in the past. If I'm not mistaken, the BWI was the overflow resort for the convention that was held at the YC.

There are also TAs that book blocks of rooms and they offer them at deeply reduced rates. Their cancellation policies are often quite different from Disney's. You can probably find them by googling.

Other than those options, you can also look into rent DVC points at VWL, AKV, BWV, BCV or, very soon, VGF. You can read about renting points on http://dvcbyrequest.com/ or by visiting the Rent/Trade forum in the DVC section here on the disboards.

Only if you know a cast member. I got my parents a double double room at the Grand Floridian in August for $100 per night.

Everyone, what is DVC points, and what do you mean by renting points? Can you please explain to me exactly what DVC points are?

Check the link I provided. David does an excellent job of describing the process in his FAQs.

In short, when you rent points, you are paying a DVC member to secure a reservation for you in a Disney Vacation Club villa using the points that they own. Your agreement is with the DVC member and not with Disney. The member retains ownership of the reservation and all changes must be made through them. It is an affordable way to stay at a deluxe resort but it does have its downsides.

The only time I've seen it that cheap is convention pricing. My husband got that 145.00 rate for the CR due to attending a convention there (that I couldn't get away for).

Other than that I don't know that you'll find a deluxe room that cheap.

Maybe either AKL or WL if there is a room discount next summer?

I have gotten AKL for 189/night with a Florida resident discount during value season.. But summertime, I am paying 240 for a pool view.. Standard view for AP was 210

Just found out our national organization is holding the conference at Orlando next summer! Yippee!
