Do you think the Blue Man Group is worth seeing?

I am very interested in seeing this if it is available when we go in July (they say it'll be available sometime this summer), oops sorry, I believe it's at Universal, BUT

Anyhow, I see the tickets will be up to $55 per ticket. There will be 4 of us (our boys will be considered adult prices, they are 10 and 11)

I'm sure my DH would balk at the price just to see a show and will probably say that he wouldn't want to go. But I know that if he went, he would like it.

But is $220 really worth it to see a show? And how long does the show last for those of you who have seen it before?

It's definitely worjth it! We saw it about 6 years ago, and I don't remember how long it was, but I remember the show VERY well! We had older teens with us, and me and my husband, and it was great for all of us. It is hilarious, wierd and not like anything else you have ever seen.

While _I_ have not seen it, we have a good friend who is a multimillionaire and he regards it as one of the best shows he's EVER seen!

I don't know if my experience will be of any help, but here goes... We (husband, and another couple) paid $90 each to see Blue Man in Las Vegas. I thought the show was excellent. I beleive it lasted 1 1/2 hours? My 3 companions however actually managed to fall alsleep! It was loud, and very visually stimulating, I don't know how they did it. Let me say though that the other 3 are not "artsy", in other words they would NEVER see a ballet, or have a good time in an art museum, or see Circe de Sole (bad spelling) where as I love that sort of thing. My husband woke up at one point in the show and asked me "what are they doing" "what do they have in their hands" etc. etc.

At the end of the show (spoiler ???) there's all this paper that comes from the back of the theater over everyones heads. Except for the other 3. They were alsleep AGAIN and the paper was all balled up behind them. That woke them up and they had no idea what was going on. I was yelling at them (over the cheering of the crowd) "pass the paper down" ! In my companions defense it WAS the 10:30 p.m. show, but we were in Vegas!

Bottom line...I would pay $55 to see them again. I think boys would especially LOVE the show. I loved it! Well worth my $90.

YES YES YES!!!!
We saw them in Las Vegas in November and the show was GREAT!!!! I wish we were going to be in orlando when they were there!

YES!!! We saw the Blue Men in the MegaRockstar tour when they came to Columbus late last year. DS (age 10) LOVED it!!!! It's a great family-friendly show. DS still talks about the show. Santa brought him the CD and we've downloaded it to his IPOD shuffle. He's constantly listening to the CD. It was the best money we have spent for a show for the whole family! (My only tip would be to pack some earplugs. The show was quite loud at times, and the earplugs we bought came in handy - and didn't deter from the show at all).

I just saw them in london last weekend and it was really good and worth the (£20) money. It's a very difficult show to describe tho and i would agree with the above posters that it is a bit like visual, live art with added comedy aspects. It lasted 1 1/2 hrs with no interval and was nothing like i'd seen before. However, i went with a friend who i caught glancing at her watch on numerous occasions so i'm not sure she enjoyed it as much :rotfl:

My advice- look for a trailer and show ur family to see if they are interested. It's loud, colourful and bizarre in equal measures. A very rare opportunity in my opinion

DW & I saw them in Chicago and was entertained, but I don't think we'll go back. I do believe your 10 & 11 yo would really like it.

I've seen them in Boston twice, and will be returning there to see them again this spring - absolutely go! The boys, especially will love it!

It is loud - it's a rock concert. The music is great, the performance is excellent, the interaction with the audience is AWESOME. Make sure to get seats in the "poncho section" - you won't regret it! (When you order your tickets, they'll know what you mean! :goodvibes )

Yes - Blue Man has it's own theatre here in Boston, and the show is consistently great! DD just went again for one of her friends' birthday, and she LOVED it (she's 13).

Go!

Definately go, We saw them in Oct. in Milwaukee. I wished we had taken the boys.

We have seen them in Boston and thought they were great - want to see them again! :thumbsup2

DH & I saw Blue Man Group about 2 years ago with another couple. Loved it. They were awesome & really connected with the audience. Definitely a weird kind of show, but so worth it.

The whole show was long--because of all of the other acts--I think there were 3-4 other acts before they came out. The other acts we didn't really care for so much. But Blue Man Group was amazing!

We already have tickets for opening night at Universal 06/07 8:30pm show.

We are setting in the Poncho section, 2nd row almost right in the middle. It should be great!

OK, in the minority here but they kind of creep me out.

I, probably, am not artsy enough, though I do go to the ballet and love museums (I am teasing "sindertinker" a little - hee hee).

It's not that I can't stand them but just a little is enough. An entire show??? For that much $$$? Not me.

I've seen the Blue Man Group in Chicago and definitely recommend seeing their show. There is audience participation and they hold your attention the entire time. It was worth what I spent and my friends and I want to see them again.

I saw them once in Vegas and am so excited to see them this June.
They are awesome!
They are very funny and really rock.
If you never saw them I recommend seeing them at least once.

Is anyone having trouble trying to check ticket availability online via universalorlando.com? When I click on "buy tickets" park tickets come up, like APs, etc. There is no where to buy them online. Just wondering if it's just me or is anyone else having this problem? Thanks.

you couldn't drag me to see Cirque de Soleil, but I can't wait to see the Blue Man Group!

I had a problem too due to pop-up blockers. Try this link, it did eventually work for me after I shut the blocker off.

I am really looking forward to taking my kids to see this show. I know they will love it.
